The 26th edition of IndiaWood is set to highlight the latest developments in woodworking technology, and SCM is preparing to present a comprehensive portfolio of machinery and digital services tailored to the Indian market. The company’s participation reinforces its long-term commitment to India, supported by strategic investments including the opening of a new branch in Bengaluru and the establishment of a dedicated local team of technicians and sales engineers.
This presence underlines a focused approach. The Indian woodworking sector is evolving rapidly. Manufacturers are seeking higher productivity, greater flexibility and enhanced design capabilities. These demands are being addressed through advanced automation, digital integration and application-specific solutions.
At IndiaWood 2026, a broad range of technologies will be demonstrated. Each solution has been selected to meet the operational requirements of Indian manufacturers, from bespoke joinery workshops to large-scale furniture producers and companies specialising in wooden doors and buildings.
A key highlight will be the morbidelli m100 CNC machining centre for routing and drilling. This highly modular 5-axis machining centre is designed to resolve a wide spectrum of woodworking challenges. Superior finishing quality is achieved through the JQX (Just Quality eXtreme) 5-axis direct-driven spindle head, which ensures the total absence of vibrations even during heavy material removal at high speed. High-performance drilling heads equipped with RO.AX (Rotoaxial spindle technology) spindles operate at rotation speeds of up to 8000 rpm.
Flexibility is further enhanced by the TV FLEX manual positioning table. Rails and pods positioning quotes are displayed on the TECPAD remote control according to the loaded programme. There are no limits to the manual positioning of rails, pods and clamps. Aided positioning is provided through measuring tapes on both the frame and rails. The tubeless design adds operational simplicity. The machine is operated using the Suite Maestro software, which includes dedicated modules for each stage of production. Just a few clicks are required to design and manufacture components of any shape.
Edgebanding technology will be represented by the stefani kd. This edgebander is engineered to process various panel types, including those with delicate surfaces, thanks to its upper belt presser. The standard SGP glue pot, treated with special anti-adherent plasma technology, enables the use of both EVA and PUR adhesives to ensure optimal bonding quality.
Two different radii and 12 mm solid wood lipping on panels up to 60 mm thick can be processed through automatic set-up of the working units using NC controlled axes. A working speed of up to 20 m/min is achieved. This makes the machine particularly suitable for high-volume production environments where consistent quality is essential.
For solid wood processing, SCM will present the profiset 60 automatic planer and throughfeed moulder. High productivity is delivered through a flexible configuration with up to six spindles and the possibility to preset profiling on the top horizontal spindle. Ergonomics and safety have been prioritised in its design. Controls are positioned within immediate reach of the operator.
The feeding system combines gearbox drive with cardan joints, pneumatic pressure on feed rollers and inverter-controlled feed speed adjustable between 5 and 25 m/min. Smooth and stable processing is ensured. Surface quality is improved. Daily productivity is increased.
The morbidelli cx100 CNC drilling centre has been developed for furniture manufacturers aiming for maximum output and consistent machining quality. All drilling operations, grooving and vertical routing are performed within a single automatic cycle. Operator intervention for worktable tooling is eliminated. Production efficiency is therefore enhanced.
Top drilling references the external face of the panel. A perfect visible finish is guaranteed by compensating for internal thickness variations. Workpiece length is automatically read using a precision laser, correcting dimensional discrepancies and ensuring perfectly aligned joints. The integrated Maestro CNC software provides intuitive CAD/CAM programming, complete tool management and full process control. Reliable and repeatable results are delivered even in demanding environments.
Panel sizing requirements will be addressed by the nova si 400 sliding table saw. Equipped with a 400 mm blade, it is designed to deliver consistent cutting precision. The saw unit features a closed-loop structure, ensuring maximum torsional rigidity and the complete absence of vibration. Blade alignment is maintained during tilted and demanding cuts.
The sliding carriage incorporates a wide section with closed reticular geometry for exceptional stiffness. Hardened steel guides and a sliding bearing system ensure smooth and durable movement. Manual adjustments are performed via a dust-protected gearbox, a patented SCM solution. Each handwheel movement corresponds precisely to blade positioning. The scoring unit is manually adjustable through direct mechanical levers, allowing fast and accurate vertical and horizontal settings.
Completing the line-up is the nova ti 105 spindle moulder. Designed for guaranteed quality and operational flexibility, it offers precise set-up and intuitive control. All adjustments are made through front-positioned handwheels with mechanical decimal readouts. Accuracy to one tenth of a millimetre is ensured through digital positioning displays. A large cast-iron spindle column provides maximum rigidity and consistent machining quality. Four standard spindle speeds cover moulding, routing and tenoning operations, with tooling capacity up to 320 mm in diameter.
In addition to machinery, digital services will play a central role at the exhibition. Within a dedicated Digital Control Room, visitors will be introduced to Maestro connect, SCM’s IoT platform. Machine data are transformed into tailored assistance and advisory services. A proactive and predictive approach is adopted. Operational continuity is supported through advanced digital technologies and continuous attention from the SCM Service team.
Through this integrated offering, SCM confirms its strategic focus on India. Innovation, local expertise and digital transformation are being combined. The result is a comprehensive response to the evolving needs of the Indian woodworking industry.
