SCM Group has been awarded the prestigious SMAU 2024 Innovation Award for its groundbreaking project, the “Solutions Library.” Announced during SMAU’s annual event in Milan on October 29-30, this innovative AI-driven resource supports SCM Group’s digital transformation by dynamically organising and delivering technical solutions to employees and customers. The Solutions Library reflects the core themes of the event—digital transformation and open innovation—by using advanced AI to process and classify the company’s extensive technical knowledge, providing real-time access to information.
Developed as part of SCM Group’s digital transformation initiative, the Solutions Library is designed to harness and enhance the knowledge gained from the company’s 70-year history in woodworking and materials processing technology. This tool not only streamlines access to technical expertise but also strengthens SCM Group’s commitment to long-term customer relationships by offering valuable digital services alongside its products.
Alessandra Benedetti, SCM Group’s Digital Transformation & Business Remodeling Director, accepted the award and outlined the project’s impact during the event’s Live Show, “Innovative Tools to Support and Enhance Employees’ Work.” She stated, “The Solutions Library is part of a broader strategic vision to support our customers with both product and software solutions, fostering an ongoing, collaborative relationship.”
The SMAU event also provided SCM Group with a platform to connect with leaders in Italy’s innovation ecosystem. Accompanied by Sara Iaconianni, Scouting & Idea Generation Manager, and Lorenzo Monti, Digital Projects Manager, Benedetti joined the Startup Safari to explore potential partnerships and open innovation opportunities.
With the Solutions Library, SCM Group demonstrates how digital technologies can transform business models, creating value not only in operational efficiency but also from a sustainability perspective. This project underscores SCM Group’s role as an innovation leader in both customer service and sustainable business practices.
