SCM is extremely pleased with the results of LIGNA 2025 in Hannover. This was the 50th edition of the exhibition, and over all these years SCM has never missed a single event – and this year was no exception.

This year, SCM Group represented across three stands totaling 3,300 m², with five specialists from SCM Group Oceania, as well as their partners and regional dealers. This ensured strong representation of the Oceania region and professional support for clients throughout the exhibition. The total number of visitors from this region was the highest in the past eight years.

One clear trend emerging was the increasing demand from companies seeking highly automated, technologically advanced solutions—extending beyond traditional woodworking applications. This is an area where SCM has consistently excelled, and their focus is on bringing these state-of-the-art technologies to the Oceania market.

The biggest highlight was the Tecno Logica stand – a company that joined SCM Group in 2024. The showcased conceptual edgebanding machine was the most talked about innovation of the exhibition. Drawing inspiration from automotive industry technologies, it sets a new standard in the woodworking sector by combining exceptional performance with unmatched flexibility. Even their competitors acknowledged the revolutionary efficiency of this solution. “Building on this concept, we now offer not only edgebanding but also fully automated systems for drilling, hardware insertion, and cabinet assembly. Recently, we have delivered the first of these lines in Europe, capable of producing an impressive 10 fully assembled cabinets per minute – entirely operator-free.” -SCM Oceania.

At the heart of the exhibition, we presented a flexible production line based on the “batch-one” principle, which included:

In the CNC machining center range, we unveiled two new models. The Morbidelli X50 is an entry-level nesting center that brings many of the advanced technological features seen in higher-end models, but in a more compact and simplified design. It’s tailored for customers looking for an affordable entry point into automated production, without sacrificing quality, precision, or reliability. The Accord 500, on the other hand, is a high-performance machining center designed for heavy-duty 5-axis processing of complex parts. It is especially suited for door and window manufacturing, staircases, and custom components. With its combination of speed, structural rigidity, and versatility, it’s perfect for medium to large manufacturers handling both custom and mass production.

In the solid wood processing segment, the Topset XXL four-sided moulder garnered considerable interest, particularly from New Zealand clients. Capable of processing parts up to 320 × 200 mm, it offers feed speeds of up to 60 m/min and spindle speeds reaching 12,000 RPM. This powerful configuration delivers an exceptional surface finish, minimising the need for additional sanding.

Timber construction received special focus at this year’s exhibition – a segment showing steady global growth with clearly positive forecasts. SCM has introduced the new oikos xs CNC center for glued laminated timber, complementing the existing oikos product line. Without exaggeration, SCM reaffirmed its leadership in this area, with an incredible number of inquiries from around the world. The more complex and flexible the project requirements, the more competitive advantages the new oikos generation provides.

SCM Group’s presence at LIGNA 2025 highlighted the power of digital connectivity in shaping the future of woodworking. Demonstrating the next evolution in smart manufacturing, SCM revealed how real-time data collection and analysis can drive proactive support, reduce downtime, and boost overall productivity. These capabilities enable a seamless production flow, allowing issues to be identified and addressed before they impact operations.

Among the key innovations was the new MyPortal platform, offering intuitive access to machine monitoring, energy consumption tracking, and service management. Additional highlights included Smart Spindle technology for predictive tool diagnostics, specialised cybersecurity solutions, and a Solutions Library built on SCM’s deep technical expertise. A new technical training portal also supports faster onboarding through e-learning and digital twin experiences. Together, these tools form part of SCM’s modular and customisable digital service bundles, designed to support customers through every stage of production.

LIGNA 2025 served as a vital platform: reaffirming leadership, accelerating innovation, and strengthening collaboration with our clients in the Oceania region. SCM would like to take this opportunity to invite all their customers to attend our Innovation Days — taking place in Sydney on the September 3rd, 4th & 5th.
