Schattdecor-New Appointment

Schattdecor SE changes its leadership with Dr. Karsten Schween, who will take over as Chairman, and Angelique Renkhoff-Mücke will join the Supervisory Board. On June 25, 2025, Bruno Walt, a member of the Supervisory Board, and Reiner Schulz, the previous Chairman of the Group’s Supervisory Board, will depart the firm after many years of service.

Regarding Bruno Walt and Reiner Schulz’s retirement

Rainer Schulz is ending his professional career after over 40 years of devoted service. He has been CEO since 2007 and has been Chairman of the Board since 2017. Since joining the firm in 1985, he has contributed to Schattdecor’s growth and success for many years. He was especially crucial in promoting the company’s globalisation and expansion, which guaranteed its presence throughout the world.
Walter Schatt, founder of the company, on Reiner Schulz’s exit: “Reiner Schulz embodied vision, clarity, and humanity. With his signature, he significantly shaped the development of Schattdecor, a company that stands for quality around the world today. I am deeply indebted to him for his loyalty, wise decisions, and decades of trusting cooperation.”

After twelve fruitful years, Bruno Walt, a Supervisory Board member since 2013, is also departing the Board. Bruno has offered insightful advice to direct Schattdecor’s strategic orientation using his knowledge of finance.

Recently appointed Supervisory Board members

As Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Reiner Schulz will be replaced by Dr. Karsten Schween, a consultant with a long history of strong ties to the entrepreneurial family. With his extensive background and profound knowledge of strategy and governance in family-owned businesses, he will offer knowledgeable direction for Schattdecor’s future growth.

Dr. Karsten Schween, in his new responsibility, shared: “I look forward to continuing to develop Schattdecor together with the Management Board and my colleagues on the Supervisory Board – respecting the company’s mission while providing a clear view to the future.”

The Supervisory Board also has a new member, Angelique Renkhoff-Mücke. She joined the WAREMA Group in 1998 and has been the CEO of WAREMA Renkhoff SE, a market leader in Europe for building management and sun shading systems, since 2001. With her extensive background in the family firm and her many years of managerial expertise, she will bring a pragmatic viewpoint and entrepreneurial vision to the board.

As first and second deputy chairwomen, respectively, Anja Schatt-Steiner and Sonja Schatt-Fritsch will continue to represent the founding family on the Supervisory Board. “We would also like to thank Reiner Schulz and Bruno Walt for their many years of trusting cooperation. They have always been at our side with help and advice. With Dr. Karsten Schween and Angelique Renkhoff-Mücke, we have gained two strong personalities who share our values and have a clear focus on the challenges of today and tomorrow. We are looking forward to the future,” stated the two sisters.

The Schattdecor SE Management Board additionally acknowledges Bruno Walt and Reiner Schulz: “We would like to thank them both for their many years of service, their expertise, and their commitment to the company. At the same time, we look forward to working with the two new members of the Supervisory Board in the future.”
