“Freiraum creates unlimited space for creativity and innovation. Mentally and creatively. What does that mean for the future? Now everything is possible”, with this definition of its new trend concept //FREIRAUM// Schattdecor announces its twentieth interzum as an exhibitor.

From May 9th to 12th, 2023, customers and visitors can get an idea of ​​how the boundaries between the individual areas of life are disappearing more and more at the booth in the event. Shapes, colors and trends for designers of living, working and public areas today come from both the analog and the digital world. The future knows no borders.

“If we want to create something new, we have to break away from old boundaries. Rethink progress and innovation and work together. This requires a long-term common commitment, a new sense of togetherness. The path to the future is a relay race, not an individual sprint. Today we have the corresponding new, creative and technological possibilities at our disposal”, says Claudia Küchen.

A scenario in which there is also a lot of demand within the industry. “We are already experiencing a material evolution in our industry. Clever minds are working along our value chain on new substrates, using new resources for this and producing a first generation of products that herald a long-term evolution,” says Küchen.

A decor that stands out in its properties and is indicative of new freedom and design possibilities. Vaia, translated from Greek, means palm leaf. It takes up the theme of nature in a striking manner. Large, impressive palm leaves directly create a natural environment. Mentally we are in harmony with nature. We immediately feel comfortable and connected. In combination with a three-dimensional lamellar structure and effect pigments in gold, an exciting look is created that is both grounding and captivating. New digital freedom enabled designers to go beyond the familiar, well-known image of nature and its physical laws to become creative in design. And so a modern modification and interpretation emerged. The exciting mix of two worlds that are in flux.

The key visual of this year’s trade fair appearance with the new trend motto //FREIRAUM// is the Vaia decor. It strongly reflects the pronounced environmental and nature awareness on the consumer side. Digitally created shapes and a gold effect create a unique, modern and flowing interpretation of nature. Vaia stands for the merging of the areas of life and new intellectual and creative freedom.
