Sandåsa Timber, with its three facilities in Sörmland, has successfully implemented the Timber by Pinja business system, delivered by Triona, at its sawmills in Åker and Forssjö. This new system replaces the previously used Winsaw. Additionally, an integration has been established to allow Timber by Pinja to exchange package data with SiPal.
The entire sawmill operation is now powered by the robust Timber by Pinja business system. Initially, previous business systems were replaced, and Timber by Pinja is now utilised for sales, orders, inventory, invoicing, and package handling throughout the process. The next phase involves implementing the production planning module and integrating control over raw material flows within the system. This approach ensures full traceability from raw material to finished product. From the outset, the system also provides comprehensive support for PEFC and FSC certifications.
The next step in the introduction will be for the wood processing plant in Sandåsa to put Timber by Pinja into operation during the autumn. In the introduction project, they have collaborated with three parties; Sandåsa, Triona and Pinja where Triona was responsible for project management and training etc. and Pinja was responsible for configuring the system, customer adaptations and integrations etc. The introduction has worked very well and with confidence, with regular reconciliations in both the project group and the steering group.
Timber by Pinja facilitates informed business decisions at every stage of the process by consistently compiling and updating both current statuses and historical data within the system. The system’s development has been and continues to be a collaborative effort with their customers, ensuring it evolves to meet emerging needs effectively.
Timber by Pinja is developed by the Finnish company Pinja, with which Triona began a collaboration in 2017. Timber by Pinja is today used by around 80 sawmills and other wood industries in Sweden, Finland and the Baltic countries. Triona offers the Swedish wood industry a Swedish version of the system including implementation support, support and complementary solutions such as e.g. C-Load. Timber by Pinja is modular and suitable for both small companies and large groups with several units.
