The professional association for wood and metal, the BGHM awarded the highest safety award, the “Smart Fox” to Pallmann Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG. Grinding wheel change – in the past, this task in the Zweibrück machine factory has always had handling difficulties. Especially after a long period of use, the nature and diameter of the discs changed, so that a change was always accompanied by an increased risk of injury or accident.
When the purchase of a new CNC profile grinding machine was due, all manufacturing processes on the machine were literally put through their paces. This gave rise to the idea of finding a solution for more safety and health at work for the problem identified. Said and done. Thanks to this practical and direct cooperation between machine operators and toolmakers, a special device could be developed quickly. For this, the Pallmann Maschinenfabrik with its ideas was now awarded the highest safety award, the “Smart Fox” by the BGHM.
