Paged is proud to announce the launch of Paged DryGuard FR, a revolutionary new plywood that sets a new benchmark in the building construction industry by offering advanced fire and moisture protection. Designed for high-humidity environments and projects requiring the highest safety standards, Paged DryGuard FR addresses the growing demand for innovative, versatile materials in construction.
Developed by Paged’s R&D team at Paged LabTech in collaboration with the Paged Morąg technology and operations teams, DryGuard FR is a world-first solution. It integrates cutting-edge technology that combines fire resistance with moisture protection, making it a unique offering in the global market.
According to Ewelina Depczyńska, R&D Director and CEO of Paged LabTech: “Paged DryGuard FR is the result of years of expertise in producing fire-retardant plywood, coupled with the work of our dedicated specialists. It is the only product of its kind in the world to be developed, certified, and brought to market. This plywood ensures safety without compromise.” She further added, “Paged DryGuard FR stands for safety, durability, and versatility in construction. We are confident that it will become the new industry standard.”
Key Applications
Paged DryGuard FR is suitable for a wide range of applications, including:
Public Utility Construction: Ideal for schools, hotels, shopping centres, hospitals, airports, and subway stations.
Commercial Construction: Perfect for warehouses, production halls, and data centres.
Residential Construction: Designed for use in apartment houses, modular homes, mobile homes, and bungalows.
Wooden Structures: Can be used as wall and ceiling panels (CE1).
Key Features of Paged DryGuard FR
Water Resistance: Paged DryGuard FR features a hydrophobic coating that minimises moisture absorption (EN 927-5). This eliminates the need for additional rain protection, reducing costs and accelerating project timelines.
Fire Resistance: The product achieves the highest fire reaction class for wood—B-s1, d0 (EN 13501-1)—ensuring safety in public and commercial spaces.
Mould Protection: The advanced coating offers effective protection against fungal growth, ensuring a healthy environment for use (EN 927-3).
UV Protection: Enhanced UV protection (PN-EN 927-6) prevents surface cracking. The distinctive red colour also helps prevent confusion when using multiple types of plywood on site.
Lightweight and Durable: Made from pine wood, DryGuard FR is lightweight, easy to install, and boasts high structural strength.
Design Flexibility: The plywood has undergone specialised testing for the strength and stiffness of roof and floor sheathing at the Lukasiewicz Research Network – Wood Technology Institute, confirming its suitability for structural applications.
Certification: Paged DryGuard FR is certified by an independent notified body (System for Assessment and Verification of Constancy of Performance AVCP 1).
Environmental Sustainability: Manufactured from certified wood sourced from sustainable forests in the Baltic Sea region (FSC, PEFC), it has low formaldehyde and VOC emissions. The product is also certified with a Type III Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).
Vapor Permeability: DryGuard FR allows water vapour to pass through, thanks to its low diffusion resistance.
Installation Options and Extended Offer
Paged DryGuard FR is designed for easy installation:
Tongue-and-Groove (T&G) Jointing: This system ensures a smooth and quick installation process, providing structural stability and eliminating the “keyboarding” effect.
CNC Cutting and Machining: Paged offers precise formats and custom shapes to meet the specific requirements of any project, making integration simpler and more efficient.
Paged DryGuard FR is set to redefine the standards for construction materials, offering an unmatched combination of safety, performance, and ease of use for a wide range of applications.
