Metsä Group has announced the appointment of Ulla Nurminen as the company’s new Group Treasurer, effective October 1 2024. Nurminen will transition from her current role as Vice President, Cash Management & Treasury Support. She brings a wealth of experience to the position, having previously held various roles within Metsä Group’s Treasury and at Nordea.
The current Group Treasurer, Ari-Pekka Latti, will step down from his role but will continue to serve as Senior Advisor until the end of 2024. Latti has been with Metsä Group for 14 years, contributing significantly to the company’s financial strategies. “I would like to extend warm thanks to Ari-Pekka for his valuable work and long-term commitment to our company,” said Vesa-Pekka Takala, CFO of Metsä Group.
Both Nurminen and Latti will report directly to CFO Takala during the transition.
Metsä Group, rooted in Finnish forestry, is owned by over 90,000 forest owners through its parent company, Metsäliitto Cooperative. The company produces sustainable, recyclable wood-based products used globally in everyday life. Focused on wood supply, forest services, wood products, pulp, paperboards, and tissue and greaseproof papers, Metsä Group is committed to regenerative forestry to enhance forest ecosystems. In 2023, the company reported sales of EUR 6.1 billion and employs around 9,500 people worldwide.
