As of November 1, 2024, Hendrik Rawe, 34, has officially taken on the role of department head overseeing LIGNA, INTERSCHUTZ, parts2clean, and SurfaceTechnology GERMANY within Deutsche Messe’s “Trade Fair & Product Management” division. Rawe will report to Arno Reich, Senior Vice President of the division, while the current project managers for each trade fair — Stephanie Wagner (LIGNA), Bernd Heinold (INTERSCHUTZ), and Christoph Nowak (parts2clean and SurfaceTechnology GERMANY) — will retain technical leadership over their respective teams. Rawe steps into this role following the departure of his predecessor, Hendrik Engelking, who left the company in November 2023.
Rawe brings a solid background in trade fair management and digital transformation to Deutsche Messe. After earning a Master’s in Marketing and Sales Management from FHDW Hannover, he joined Koelnmesse in 2015, where he held various roles in corporate development, strategic planning, and digital project management. His work there included supporting mergers and acquisitions, leading new event formats, and playing an instrumental role in the digital transformation of Koelnmesse’s services. He held the role of Digital Project Manager before his recent move to Deutsche Messe.
In addition to his professional achievements, Rawe is known for his volunteer work as a firefighter. Since 2017, he has actively contributed to his community as a leader within the Cologne Volunteer Fire Brigade, founding both the Cologne Kalk fire brigade and its youth fire department. His dedication earned him the Cologne Volunteer Award in 2023. Until recently, he also served as a senior fire inspector in the Cologne leadership service.

Rawe’s expertise and commitment are expected to play a key role in furthering Deutsche Messe’s objectives for LIGNA, INTERSCHUTZ, parts2clean, and SurfaceTechnology GERMANY, advancing both the company’s event management and its focus on industry innovation.
