At LIGNA 2023, cameo Laser Franz Hagemann GmbH will be showcasing the latest Epilog Fusion laser systems, which are designed to open up new dimensions in woodworking. In addition, well-known Youtuber and master carpenter Siggi Hoffmann aka “SigWood” will present live and in videos how unique furniture pieces are created with the Epilog Fusion Pro.

“Making more out of wood” – this year’s theme of LIGNA 2023 in Hannover, the world’s leading trade fair for the wood industry. There is no missing an application that is increasingly establishing itself in the woodworking industry: Laser technology. “It allows the natural material to be processed in a diverse, creative and sustainable way,” explains Torsten Herbst, Managing Director of cameo Laser. At the Epilog booth (E61) in Hall 11, he and his team will be demonstrating how the Fusion systems

can be used to create jewelry and individualized furniture in no time at all. The machines decorate a wide variety of woods with personal messages, logos and detailed patterns, or provide them with numbers and bar and data matrix codes. “They mark and engrave at tremendous speed and can also cut wood up to 20 millimeters thick as well as panels, for example for inlay work,” Herbst continues.

A unique feature of the Fusion series is that they are all equipped with Epilog’s proprietary IRIS camera system for high-precision work. Cameras in the upper part of the lasers provide the operator with live images of the complete working area during the alignment process. This gives him a comprehensive overview and allows him to see the exact position of the engraving or marking on the workpiece on his computer screen. “This improves work results enormously and opens up many more possibilities in the creative field. The advance display can be used to determine whether, for example, lettering should be set larger or at an angle for optimum effect,” explains the cameo Laser Managing Director.

The results that can be achieved will be demonstrated by a professional at the Epilog booth: Youtuber and master carpenter Siggi Hoffmann – better known as “SigWood” in the woodworking scene. He has worked with the Epilog Fusion Pro and produced high-quality, unique exhibits. The wood technician recorded this exclusively for cameo Laser in videos and he will also be showing some of the work steps live at LIGNA. Torsten Herbst: “It becomes clear what can be done with the machine and how easy it is to operate. Anyone who stops by our booth will receive new impulses and inspiration. SigWood makes the fascination that comes from laser technology visible and tangible!
