Kündig GmbH has introduced the Eco Cleaning System (ECS), a revolutionary air knife solution that significantly reduces dust accumulation in sanding machines while cutting operational costs.
Dust contamination is a persistent issue in sanding processes, impacting both surface quality and belt longevity. Traditionally, sanding belts are cleaned with compressed air, which is not only costly but also results in inconsistent cleaning. Kündig’s ECS air blade offers a uniform, energy-efficient solution that eliminates these inefficiencies.
The ECS air knife generates a continuous airflow using a motorized fan, eliminating the need for expensive compressed air. Positioned across the entire sanding belt width, the system ensures even dust removal, improving sanding precision and durability. Studies indicate that ECS is twice as efficient as traditional compressed air cleaning methods.
The ECS can be further optimised by integrating the same fan to power both the air knife and the vacuum transport system, maximizing efficiency. Housed within the machine, the maintenance-free system ensures a dust-free work environment by channeling removed particles directly into the central extraction system.
With over 100 systems already in use worldwide, Kündig has applied for a patent on this cost-effective, high-performance solution that sets new standards in dust control technology.
