Kronosapn-Domotex 2026

Kronospan cemented its position as a premier innovator in contemporary flooring and surface solutions with confidence at DOMOTEX 2026, the world’s premier trade expo for flooring and interior finishing, in Hanover, held from January 19-22, 2026. Kronospan’s most recent collections were the center of industry interest as architects, designers, distributors, and specifiers from all around the world convened to discuss the future of interior design.

This year’s DOMOTEX underscored a major shift in how flooring is perceived—not as an isolated surface, but as part of a holistic interior ecosystem. Across exhibition halls, dominant themes included integrated design concepts, responsible material sourcing, acoustic performance, and surfaces that engage both visually and tactilely. Floors are now expected to interact seamlessly with walls, furnishings, and sound environments to support well-being and functionality.

After years dominated by cool gray tones and uniform finishes, the industry is clearly pivoting back toward warm, nature-inspired aesthetics. Oak and walnut visuals, organic textures, and matte surfaces are reclaiming prominence as homeowners and designers seek interiors that feel authentic, comfortable, and emotionally grounding. Sensory surfaces that reflect real wood grain are increasingly preferred over glossy or flat printed finishes.

Responding directly to this demand, Kronospan introduced the new Rocko vinyl collection, featuring SENSOTOUCH embossed-in-register technology. This innovation enhances realism by synchronizing surface texture with wood visuals, delivering a convincing tactile experience. When combined with Perfect Pad IXPE underlayment, the system also improves walking comfort and reduces impact noise—an increasingly important criterion for both residential and commercial spaces.

Pattern expression has also made a strong comeback in 2026. Distinctive layouts such as herringbone, chevron, and geometric parquet-inspired designs are gaining popularity for their ability to add depth and character. Larger plank formats with varied designs further reduce visual repetition, contributing to more natural-looking floors.

The KronoOriginal Herringbone collection reflects this trend by offering 120 unique decors produced using Perfect Plank technology, which minimises pattern repetition and enhances the handcrafted feel. This approach aligns with growing demand for exclusive flooring solutions that balance craftsmanship aesthetics with industrial precision.

Another standout narrative at DOMOTEX was the Multi Room concept, which promotes cohesive interior storytelling. By offering the same décor across three flooring formats, Kronospan enables designers to maintain visual continuity while adapting floors to different room functions, layouts, and performance requirements—an increasingly relevant solution for open-plan living and mixed-use spaces.

Beyond flooring, integrated wall solutions played a central role in Kronospan’s presentation. The KronoOriginal Acoustic Wall Panels address the rising importance of sound control in modern interiors, delivering both acoustic performance and contemporary design value. With soundproofing now a priority in residential, hospitality, and office environments, such solutions are becoming essential rather than optional.

Adding a sculptural dimension to interiors, Kronowall 3D panels respond to the trend for bold textural statement elements. Their three-dimensional surfaces introduce depth and rhythm to walls, enhancing visual interest without overwhelming the space.

Completing the portfolio, Rocko Tiles SPC wall panels redefine wall applications with their waterproof, lightweight construction and synchronised SENSOTOUCH surfaces. Designed for both wet and dry areas, they offer a practical, design-forward alternative to traditional ceramic tiles while maintaining durability and ease of installation.

Kronospan’s presence at DOMOTEX 2026 clearly demonstrated a strategic alignment with evolving industry expectations. By combining aesthetic warmth, tactile authenticity, acoustic comfort, and integrated surface solutions, the new KronoOriginal collections reflect how flooring and interiors are being reimagined for modern living—where design, performance, and sustainability intersect.
