Kronospan Luxembourg S.A. recently announced the successful production of its first particleboard (PB) panel made entirely from 100% recycled wood. This achievement represents a significant expansion in our manufacturing capabilities and underscores our commitment to environmental responsibility and resource optimisation.
Our site in Luxembourg produces a diverse range of high-quality products, including MDF, OSB, and laminate flooring. With the addition of 100% recycled wood PB and the first of three new melamine facing lines already operational, we are enhancing our product mix and offering the most comprehensive range from a single production site to the market.
Kronospan Luxembourg also boasts advanced energy solutions, including three combined heat and power (CHP) plants. These CHP plants generate more electricity than what the factory consumes, with the surplus being exported and sold to the national grid. This not only positively impacts the local energy landscape but also reduces our carbon footprint.
The company’s dedication to innovation and efficiency extends beyond the production processes to better serve the customers and meet the growing demand for carbon-negative, high-quality wood-based panels. Currently, it is constructing two additional melamine-facing lines and a state-of-the-art, fully automatic highbay warehouse. These advancements will further enhance the product offerings and streamline logistics, ensuring that Kronospan provide faster and more efficient service to its clients.
The Luxembourg facility exemplifies Kronospan’s relentless pursuit of excellence and green practices. As the company further embark on its new chapter, Luxembourg’s first 100% recycled wood PB, they remain at the forefront of the industry, pushing the boundaries of technology and guaranteeing that the operations benefit both end-consumers and the environment.
