Tommi Sneck, Director of Koskisen’s Sawmill Industry business, was appointed Chairman of the European Organisation of Sawmills (EOS) on May 27, 2025. EOS represents the European sawmill industry at the EU level, advocating for the sector on issues including forestry, wood products, and sustainable development. Sneck has previously served as Chairman of the Finnish Sawmills Association during the period 2020–2023.
“My goal is to continue developing the organisation’s work based on the solid foundation already in place, while also guiding the European sawmill industry into the future shaped by both emerging opportunities and challenges. These include the evolving EU initiatives related to land use sector and forestry. At the same time, sawmill industry players must seize the potential of the bio circular economy: Europe is calling for sustainable and resilient value chains and our sector can be at the very heart of this transition,” says Sneck.

In addition, Koskisen uses a chain-of-custody system in all procurement to ensure that wood material is sourced legally and ethically from reliable and identified sources. The origin of all raw materials is always checked so that the forests in protected areas are safeguarded, and wood is not sourced from controversial sources.
