JOWAT shares their new certified product : Jowapur® 686.20

JOWAT has confirmed safety and quality with their adhesive Jowapur® 686.20. The product has been recently certified under BRL 2338 for several years.

“We are now proud to announce that the products Jowapur® 685.59/61 and Jowacoll® 102.27 also meet the requirements of KOMO (in accordance with BRL 2339), the widely recognized Dutch quality mark. The certification confirms that our products consistently comply with the strict quality and safety specifications for building elements.” – JOWAT.

In addition, the PUR hot melt adhesives Jowatherm® PUR 609.00, 609.30, 609.50 and 609.60 have been listed under the SKH quality declaration (SKH-064). It confirms that the production process, the quality system and the formulations have been tested according to BRL 2339 and fulfill these requirements.

Application:

Jowapur® 686.20 is a joint-filling, fibre-reinforced one-component adhesive based on polyurethane. It cures with wood moisture and/or ambient humidity to create a water-insoluble resin, and is used for bonding fingerjointed assemblies in load-bearing timber structures

Characteristics / Directions for Use:

Jowapur® 686.20 was tested by the Materials Testing Institute (MPA, Otto-Graf Institut) of the University of Stuttgart, Germany, and classified according to EN 15425:2017 as follows: Adhesive Type: EN 15425 – I – 70 – FJ – 0.1 – w It has been established that Jowapur® 686.20 can be used for bonding fingerjointed assemblies in load-bearing timber structures according to EN 14080:2013, EN 15497:2014, and EN 16351:2015 made of spruce, fir, pine, Douglas fir, Siberian larch, or European larch wood. In addition, the MPA Stuttgart has also determined the performance characteristics of the adhesive following EN 15416-4/5. Jowapur® 686.20 has received the general national technical approval of the building authorities by the Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik (DIBt) with certificate number Z-9.1-622 for the manufacture of fingerjointed assemblies in softwood.

Please observe the information in the section “Remarks”. General bonding requirements The properties (e.g. surface tension, plasticiser content) and the conditioning of the substrates, as well as the processing conditions (e.g. ambient temperature, humidity) will influence the processes of joining and bonding. Customer tests under consideration of everyday production conditions are therefore absolutely necessary to define stable process parameters and to ensure that the product is fit for purpose. For best bonding results, the materials to be bonded should be free of dust, oil, and grease, and be dry.

Storage:

The product should remain stored in properly closed original containers, dry and cool (15 – 25 °C). At no time must the adhesive be exposed to temperatures below +5 °C. For best-before date, please see container label. After the elapse of the best-before date, it is essential that someone again verifies that the product is fit for his intended application.
