Automation in timber construction – the prime motto of this year’s HOMAG at LIGNA in Hall 14. At LIGNA, WEINMANN will be presenting a highlight for industrial prefabrication in timber construction:
The FEEDBOT W-500 robot automatically places panels on the framing unit. In combination with the WALLTEQ M-300 multifunction bridge, a flexible and efficient production cell is created. The robot and multifunction bridge work in parallel. The robot removes both full-size and cut-to-size panels fully automatically from the raw material stack, aligns them, places them with a high degree of accuracy and fixes them on the framing unit if required.
Apart from these, HOMAG will be there to put focus on innovation and excellence at LIGNA.Stage. As LIGNA celebrates its 50th anniversary, LIGNA.Stage promises to be the heart of the exhibition, showcasing key industry innovations. HOMAG is preparing to be there and at the LIGNA.Stage, trade visitors can find out about current topics in the woodworking and wood processing industry free of charge.
Dr. Stefan Bockel is head of product management at WEINMANN and will give a presentation on “Potential for automation in timber construction for craft companies and industry”. HOMAG will be available at the LIGNA.Stage on May 28 in Hall 12. HOMAG is inviting the interested participants to access a practice-oriented lecture with inspiration for medium-sized and industrial companies in timber construction.

LIGNA.Stage will highlight the importance of circular economy practices in the woodworking and wood processing industries, with a comprehensive program running daily from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Monday to Thursday) and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday. The program will include LIGNA.Circular sessions addressing how businesses can incorporate circular principles into their operations, focusing on new business models, recycling, and efficient resource usage.
Stephanie Wagner, Head of LIGNA at Deutsche Messe AG, emphasised the importance of LIGNA.Stage as a platform for knowledge transfer. “We want every visitor to leave with concrete, actionable insights that can be applied in their own business,” Wagner stated.
New this year, LIGNA will feature six themed islands around the stage, providing deeper insights into various aspects of the circular economy. These islands will cover topics such as sustainable wood materials, timber recycling, and the future of circular furniture.
