HOMAG & HOLZMA Treff witnesses a great success

 Monday, October 3, 2016

HOMAG-und-HOLZMA-Treff-2016This year’s HOMAG Group Treff—the 24th HOMAG & HOLZMA Treff—was the most successful yet: The sales team used the platform of this industry event held in the Black Forest to great effect, sealing deals with companies from numerous countries around the world. The result: record incoming orders, unique in the history of HOMAG Treffs. There were two major orders among the incoming orders. The remaining orders were for individual machines and cells, both small and large, for use in sectors ranging from trade to industry.

Visitors from around the world – from Israel to Australia

The high level of interest and positive mood were also reflected in the visitor numbers at the best Treff for 24 years. In total, more than 4,000 visitors from around the world made their way to Schopfloch and Holzbronn. In addition to customers and prospective customers from the DACH region, a number of visitors also attended from countries such as China, Russia, the USA, Canada, Australia, Israel, Finland and Denmark, as well as countries in eastern Europe.

Their colleagues from our Sales Companies and Sales Partners were also to thank for this success, some of whom traveled to the Black Forest with large visitor groups of up to 30 people. The presentations “By customers, for customers” (see Overview), workshops on themes such as “Woodworking Shop 4.0 — ready for the future with software and workshop organization” and the woodWOP user group with 60 participants were better attended than ever.

Marketing manager Alexander Prokisch was also delighted about the success of the Treff: “The HOMAG Treff has become a firmly established institution in our industry. The big advantage is that here in Schopfloch we can showcase large complete plants for the manufacture of furniture, doors and flooring. Many customers visit because they are able to attend demonstrations that are not possible at other trade fairs to this extent or in such variety.” The trend toward highly flexible manufacturing and networked production continues according to Prokisch. The virtual commissioning of machinery, cells and plants was presented as one of the innovations in this context.

NEW: virtual commissioning of machinery and plants

With immediate effect, machinery and plants from the HOMAG Group can be virtually commissioned before delivery to the customer. Real control components are used to carry out virtual commissioning before delivery — but in real time. This process offers several advantages:
•    Faster project throughput and assembly times
•    Improved software quality
•    Faster, more secure commissioning at the customer premises Conflicts and workflow problems avoided Testing with virtual workpieces and real production data
•    Mechanical and electrical testing of interfaces of plant components

WORLD PREMIERE: new zero-joint solution airTec

The HOMAG Group introduced a new entry-level zero-joint technology solution for the Ambition and KAL 370 profiLine series. This is significantly more powerful, and available for machines with a feed of 8 to 25 m/min.

The benefits:

•    Reduced noise
•    More efficient and resource-friendly than before
•    Even air flow for high quality
•    Simple operation thanks to powerTouch control system

WORLD PREMIERE: module45 for precise bevel cuts on the saw

This technical innovation allows all bevel cuts to be performed on the HOLZMA saw: quickly, easily and at infinitely variable angles. Previously, they were generally produced on a separate circular saw after cutting on a panel saw. This costs money, space and resources in production, and increases handling effort. The module45 does away with all of these disadvantages.

The benefits:

•    Retrofittable (depending on year of manufacture and model)
•    Minimal investment costs, greater benefits
•    No circular saw now required for bevel cuts
•    Simple, very ergonomic, one-man operation
•    Less scrap and higher quality thanks to reduced transport damage
