Giardina Group launches MVT 5000 glossy for advanced high-gloss polishing

Giardina Group has unveiled its MVT 5000 Glossy, a cutting-edge solution designed for high-gloss panel polishing.

The “MVT 5000 Glossy (2SL300+1SL100)” is a singlesided machine which, like its sister machines, is the ideal solution for polishing “High-Gloss” panels after sanding. After working the piece with two “CTL160SF” sanding units, cotton brushes impregnated with abrasive wax remove any marks left by sanding and touch up any imperfections.

This machine, suitable for processing flat edges, is equipped with fully independent polishing units: two “SL300” units – polishing brush groups with wax dispensers – and one “SL100” unit – an adjustable cleaning brush – which can be adjusted along three axes: height, tilt, and depth.

The brushing group consists of a motor-spindle unit equipped with a pack of felt discs with a diameter of 350 millimetres, driven by an asynchronous motor. It also includes a 300-millimetre unit supported by a tailstock with belt transmission.

The machine has a “Plc” (“Programmable Logic Controller”) control for general automation and a “Plc” control on the individual units. It is also equipped for “Industry 5.0”.

The company, born from the merger of Giardina Finishing and Mauri Macchine in 2012, has grown into a global leader in surface treatment technology, offering a comprehensive range of products and services for finishing and drying.

This evolution reached a significant milestone in 2020 with the acquisition of De Stefani, an internationally renowned sanding specialist. Together, these three companies—Giardina Finishing, Mauri Macchine, and De Stefani—combine decades of expertise, research, and technological innovation in the manufacturing of advanced surface treatment solutions. The result is a robust offering of machines and plants tailored to the needs of industries working with wood, glass, plastic, metal, and composite materials.

Under the visionary leadership of Giampiero Mauri, who passed away in 2017, Giardina Group flourished as a technological leader. His legacy continues with the strategic direction now spearheaded by his sons, Stefano and Riccardo Mauri. Their acquisition of De Stefani and the growth of the company are a testament to Giampiero’s belief in creating synergies to serve global customers with customized solutions.

Giardina’s commitment to pioneering new technologies is evident in its groundbreaking advancements in coating and drying systems. Among their innovations, Giardina was a pioneer in UV drying since the 1970s and continues to lead in water-based paint drying processes with its “MOS” technology. More recently, they developed the “GST Zerogloss” system, which revolutionizes the finishing cycle with superior high-matt finishes.

Mauri Macchine further contributes its expertise with robotic spraying systems and complete solutions for laminated wood treatments, increasingly important in the building sector. Their approach to “just in time” production and small batch processing underscores the growing demand for customizable, efficient finishing solutions.

In 2010, the partnership between Mauri Macchine and Giardina Finishing marked the beginning of the unified Giardina Group brand. Since then, the group has continued to innovate, offering a broad range of advanced solutions with a commitment to sustainability and quality. The company’s recent investment in a new headquarters and innovation center underscores its continued growth and focus on cutting-edge technology for its global clientele.
