Giardina-DeStefani

Trazos Deco, a prominent second-generation carpentry firm based in Alginet, Valencia, Spain, has significantly upgraded its production line with the acquisition of a De Stefani MVT 5000 high-end edge sander. This strategic investment, facilitated by Hurtado Maquinaria and supplied by the Giardina Group, marks a remarkable leap forward in the company’s commitment to high-quality industrial wood processing.

Solving the bottleneck in edge preparation

Trazos Deco, managed by José Antonio Sánchez, operates beyond the scope of a traditional carpentry shop. Their business model includes supplying pre-machined components ready for assembly to other carpenters and collaborating with large contracting companies on specialized decoration projects. This demanding workload necessitates technology that can deliver both flexibility and industrial-grade quality. Sánchez explained the rationale behind the investment: “One of our main bottlenecks was the preparation of panel and wood edges before varnishing. Our older machine was unreliable and required excessive hours of manual work.”

To eliminate this productivity drain and ensure the flawless finish required by their most discerning clientele, Trazos Deco turned to the Giardina Group for a definitive industrial solution. The result is the implementation of the MVT 5000, which allows them to machine and sand edges with industrial rhythm while maintaining the highest levels of precision.

The De Stefani MVT 5000

The MVT 5000 is engineered to handle the most demanding subcontracting tasks. Paco Fernández, Giardina Group’s representative in Spain, highlights the machine’s sophisticated configuration: “This new generation of edge sanders is equipped with spindle moulders and profiling units. It combines long-travel pads with finishing wheels, giving subcontracting companies the flexibility to adapt to nearly every need.”

The sander’s design prioritises speed and precision, ensuring that complex profiles and varying job specifications can be met with minimal downtime. Key operational features that contribute to its “heavy-duty” classification and ease of use include:

For Trazos Deco, this technological jump represents a significant advancement in quality and production capacity, enabling the company to confidently pursue larger, more technically challenging contracts.

For the wider Spanish woodworking industry, the installation serves as an important introduction to this high-capacity model. A similar, slightly shorter version of the sander was previously exhibited at the international trade show, showcasing the machine’s core capabilities: independently adjustable sanding groups (both physical and digital control) and unmatched precision in processing various timber and panel profiles.

As Paco Fernández concludes, the MVT 5000 is “a high-end machine for a company that delivers quality work, with flexible adjustment capabilities to quickly adapt to each order with precision. A machine built to last a lifetime.” This acquisition solidifies Trazos Deco’s position at the cutting edge of industrial wood finishing in Spain.

Who is the Giardina Group

Mauri Macchine and Giardina Finishing srl began working together in 2010. Giampiero Mauri chooses to buy Giardina Finishing during a protracted industrial reorganisation process, establishing the Giardina Group name and consolidating Giardina Finishing, Mauri Macchine, and Ventilazione Italiana under one roof. By combining the three brands, a large consumer base is consolidated, and the most comprehensive and extensive variety of finishing machines and systems may be built.  A “pilot project” for internet sales, MM Store, also started in 2017. With just a few clicks, clients worldwide may order parts and spare parts for their painting systems thanks to the platform, which was created as a result of Stefano Mauri’s initiative.

After Giampiero Mauri passed away on August 24, 2017, his sons, Stefano and Riccardo, who had always been by his side, took solid control of the business. The notarial deed that officially established the Giardina Group’s birth—the culmination of a dream that began in the far-off year of 1972—was signed on December 28.

All of the industrial units were consolidated under the Figino Serenza facility, Giardina’s historic headquarters, at the start of 2018. a brand-new space that will shortly undergo a comprehensive renovation to satisfy the demands of a contemporary business. a project that includes rearranging offices and production areas, creating training areas, and setting up a planning and innovation office. In addition, the Giampiero Mauri Innovation Center, which opened in April 2019, has a showroom and laboratory.

The most recent development along this line was the acquisition of De Stefani in May 2020, following a protracted and difficult partnership. The Giardina Group’s third pillar of support is currently the acquisition of the sanding specialist.
