Elmia Wood 2025 brought together important players and stakeholders from all over the world, effectively reinforcing its position as the worldwide centre for the forestry sector. 327 exhibitors from 25 countries participated in the exhibition, which was held in Bratteborg outside of Jönköping and drew 27,751 visitors from 48 countries. Innovative solutions, lively mechanical demonstrations, and an atmosphere that vividly reflected optimism and business possibility were the exhibition’s defining features.
“We are very pleased with the overwhelmingly positive feedback from both exhibitors and visitors. Elmia Wood 2025 has truly become the meeting place we envisioned — one defined by high energy, deep engagement, and a vibrant atmosphere in the forest. This year’s event further solidifies our position as the world’s leading forestry trade fair, and we already look forward to welcoming the industry back in 2027,” said Johannes Hansson, Event Director.
New Exhibitors and Innovations Take Center Stage
This year’s edition attracted both first-time participants and established industry leaders. Among the newcomers was Emil Glömmen of Menzi Muck, for whom the event marked a debut at Elmia Wood: “Our tool carrier has drawn considerable attention at construction fairs, and showcasing it at Elmia Wood felt entirely appropriate given its forestry applications.”
The international scope of the event also drew praise. Thommy Nilsson, Sales Manager at Komptech Sweden, noted: “The global reach of Elmia Wood is very compelling. The response to our live demonstrations has far exceeded our expectations.”
Longstanding Participants Celebrate 50 Years of Attendance
Legacy brands such as Husqvarna and STIHL marked their 50th year of participation at Elmia Wood. “The atmosphere has been fantastic. Visitors are genuinely eager to explore new products and test our chainsaws in action. We even ran out of sample wood, which speaks volumes about the interest,” said Lasse Strandell, Product Specialist at Husqvarna.
Clara Bergström, Product Manager for STIHL’s professional range, echoed that sentiment: “Visitor flow has been excellent, and interest in our new releases is strong. The redesigned demo trail significantly enhanced engagement — our booth was busy all day. We are thoroughly satisfied.”
A Marketplace for Business
Beyond product displays, Elmia Wood 2025 proved to be a productive platform for commerce. At Logosol, a large number of visitors gathered for the unveiling of the company’s latest band sawmill. “Elmia Wood is a genuine business venue for us. We consistently make direct sales during the fair. The opportunity to meet so many customers in one place is unique,” said Robert Berglund, CEO of Logosol.
The experience was similar for Alstor, another machinery manufacturer: “Our target customers are here, and they are serious buyers. We’ve connected with clients from all over Sweden and several emerging markets where we’re seeing growing demand,” said CEO Kristian Laurell.
One of the most talked-about demonstrations came from PlantMax, which showcased its advanced mechanised tree planting technology. “It’s incredibly rewarding to demonstrate a fully operational, efficient system for mechanised reforestation. Many people don’t realize how far the technology has come. This is reality, not just a vision. The global interest in PlantMax is strong, and we expect it to grow even more following Elmia Wood,” said Magnus Sandström, CEO of PlantMax.
A Vibrant and Inclusive Gathering
Anna-Karin Zinnerfors, CEO of Elmia, praised the atmosphere at this year’s event: “The event grounds have been wonderfully vibrant. Exhibitors and visitors alike demonstrated the importance of Elmia Wood as a unifying platform for the industry. The mix of companies — large and small, Swedish and international, established and emerging — created a rich and diverse experience.”
Johannes Hansson added: “The true highlight was the atmosphere — engaged visitors, active exhibitors, machines in motion, and a strong international presence. The updated layout, reallocation of over 100 booths, enhanced trails, and new stage areas significantly improved accessibility and created a more inspiring experience for all.”
Looking Ahead
The next edition of Elmia Wood will take place May 20–22, 2027. Organisers and participants alike are already looking forward to returning to the forest — and to another successful chapter in the ongoing evolution of the global forestry industry.
