Drema Fair to host second edition of "Drema Forest" project for reforestation in Poland

The 40th Drema Fair, one of the world’s most significant exhibitions dedicated to the woodworking and processing industry, will feature the second edition of the “Drema Forest” project. This initiative aims to plant thousands of trees in the least forested areas of Poland, promoting sustainable development within the wood and furniture industries. This year’s activities will be conducted in partnership with Posadzimy.pl, a professional organiser of tree planting campaigns as part of corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

The “Drema Forest” project was first introduced in 2023 during an industry meeting in Poznań. After extensive consultations with market representatives and experts, the fair’s organizing team proposed the initiative to unite professionals and supporters of the wood industry in rebuilding domestic wood resources. Andrzej Półrolniczka, director of the DREMA and Dremasilesi trade fairs, emphasized the importance of this project in response to natural disasters and the resulting wood raw material shortages. “The MTP Group has initiated a public debate on sustainable policy based on ecological values and respect for the natural environment. In the era of ESG implementation, the economy must adopt solutions to secure the interests of industry entities,” said Półrolniczka.

During the Drema Fair, guests can participate in the “Drema Forest” project by providing their contact details. In return, one tree will be planted on their behalf during the campaign finale, and each participant will receive a certificate confirming their involvement. The project aims to promote sustainable development and contribute to the renewal of valuable natural resources used by the industry, thereby supporting the Polish ecosystem.

Paweł Romański, founder of Posadzimy.pl, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration. “We are pleased that the Drema Fair organizers are committed to ecological involvement and educating the wood industry. Every opportunity to promote sustainable development and care for our planet is priceless. Together, we will create a real ‘Drema Forest,’ with participants able to plant trees virtually during the fair, which will then be sent to a real forest ecosystem in Poland,” said Romański.

Posadzimy.pl, the executive partner for the project, connects companies with ecological initiatives and strengthens their CSR and ESG activities. With over 900 clients, the company has planted more than 450,000 trees across Poland. Applications for participation in the “Drema Forest” project can be submitted at the Posadzimy.pl stand in pavilion 5A (Sustainable Development Zone).

The DREMA trade fair is the only event in Poland to receive the EUMABOIS recommendation, placing it among the top 10 distinguished international exhibitions. The fair, which will be held from September 10-13, 2024, in Poznań, continues to be a key platform for industry innovation and sustainability.
