The LOOP series from andblack design studio draws inspiration from the concept of a single surface crafted from one material, using doubly curved surfaces to enhance structural stability, organic aesthetics, and ergonomic functionality.
The design approach focuses on crafting dynamic yet harmonious forms, where the visual flow and functional performance emerge from a single, unified concept. This series redefines traditional furniture-making by replacing complex multi-element designs with seamless, self-supporting surfaces that loop together.
The LOOP series blends computational tools with traditional carpentry techniques to achieve its intricate complexity. This fusion of digital precision and artisanal craftsmanship results in designs that are universally appealing yet grounded in their origins. Through iterative prototyping, each piece is refined to meet strict performance standards, while the use of natural materials reflects the studio’s dedication to slow design principles.
The LOOP Series includes:
The series has received international recognition, including the Idea Tops Award 2023 for Global Best Design. After being showcased at prominent design events in India, the LOOP series will make its international debut at Milan Design Week 2025.
