Leitz has always been the greatest expert in manufacturing mind-blowing tools. When producing innovations, they implement their best strategies to make them work! Among many of their inventions, the WhisperCut program wins the hearts of tool lovers!

Why WhisperCut joining cutter?

When formatting plate material, tools are usually used that are loud and heavy due to their structural design. The result is stress for people and machines. Leitz developed the groundbreaking tool solution for this problem over ten years ago, which still sets the standard in terms of sustainability, efficiency and quality in edge processing: the light and quiet Diamaster WhisperCut joining cutter head. In the meantime, the world market leader from Oberkochen has turned it into a complete system family. With the available product variants, including one with an integrated HSK 32 R interface, users will be able to optimize existing joining concepts and also optimize their production costs.

Features:

Light, quiet and efficient – these few words describe the advantages of the WhisperCut program . In detail it becomes clear that it is the technical design of the tools that creates perfect edges and cutting surfaces and also makes the joining cutter head significantly quieter. The reason for the noise reduction of up to 5 dB(A) is, on the one hand, the closed shape of the light metal supporting body, which, with 50 percent less weight, is gentle on the machine and the users’ ears. On the other hand, the special processing quality is explained by the proven DFC® technology, with the help of which up to 95 percent of the chips are captured.

But that’s not enough. If you look at the entire machining process, you can save additional time and money with the WhisperCut joining cutter head . Imitated by many tool manufacturers, the original WhisperCut system still sets standards – especially in terms of costs and maintenance. The specially developed diamond interchangeable cutting edges can be resharpened several times in the tool. Alternatively, the interchangeable cutting edges can also be replaced directly by the user, meaning that the diameter of the tool always remains constant. Setup and setting times are significantly reduced than would be possible with conventional systems. A solution that can be described as efficient in all respects.

The Diamaster WhisperCut joining cutter head is available in several designs. On the one hand in the basic version, whose cutting edges can be re-sharpened up to three times, and as WhisperCut PLUS with an enlarged re-sharpening zone on the cutting edges, which can therefore be re-sharpened up to ten times. Both variants are available with a bore or shaft depending on requirements. In addition, the WhisperCut joining cutter head is also available with an integrated hydro interface or with a built-in HSK 32 R interface. Both interface variants offer clear advantages in terms of concentricity and axial runout accuracy, machining quality and extended tool life.

For users of laser edging systems, Leitz also has the WhisperCut EdgeExpert variant in its product range. It can also be resharpened up to three times and impresses with its special cutting edge arrangement and enables even better processing quality. Upon request, these joining cutter heads can also be delivered as a PLUS version and can therefore be re-sharpened up to ten times.

With the development of the WhisperCut system family , Leitz demonstrates its leadership role in the customer-oriented development of tool systems for the furniture industry. Users who have the joining cutter heads re-sharpened in one of the over 120 Leitz service centers around the world generate even more advantages and time savings. Perfectly sharpened and balanced to manufacturer quality, and including the included setting data, the tools can be used easily, quickly and reliably.
