Awarded by the International expert jury, the CLASSEN Group received the Green Collection Award at the DOMOTEX on January 11, 2024. The company’s innovative material CERAMIN received the award, while the company was appreciated for an outstanding contribution to sustainability and circular economy in the flooring industry . For the second time, the leading trade fair for floor coverings in Hanover honored innovative and inspiring achievements by companies for environmental protection.
An international jury of well-known experts led by Dr. phil. Jacqueline Lemm, head of the Institute for Soil Systems Aachen, selected the winners from over 70 different submissions. The specially developed, PVC-free material CERAMIN stood out with its pioneering technology and recyclability: “CERAMIN from CLASSEN is an innovative combination of natural minerals and polypropylene for a long-lasting and high-performance product that also impressed the jury with its quality At the award ceremony, Lemm emphasized the high quality of the submissions and the progress of many companies in the industry. Winning an award in this demanding competition is all the more valuable.
Excellent quality
The CLASSEN Group committed itself to the environmental issue much earlier than the competition. The most important aspect in the development of the material CERAMIN was and is its sustainability. The product is made from recycled materials and is therefore 100 percent recyclable. Harmful substances such as PVC or phthalates are deliberately avoided and healthy living alternatives are used – the Blue Angel officially certifies this.
The wall and floor coverings made from CERAMIN are high quality, robust and durable with a life cycle of up to 20 years. As a technology leader in the sustainable flooring industry, the CLASSEN Group sets new standards in terms of recyclability and circular economy with its products. Added to this is the climate-friendly production and the transparent supply chain, in which particular emphasis is placed on suppliers from Germany and Europe. Taken together, all of these aspects were able to completely convince the expert jury of the Green Collection Awards.
