CLASSEN Group, a global leader in flooring and wall coverings, has reinforced its long-standing patent partnership with i4F®, a technology innovator in the flooring industry, by integrating Classen’s advanced Polypropylene (PP) technologies into their collaboration. This strategic move enhances i4F’s licensing portfolio while accelerating sustainable flooring innovations.
After rigorous development and testing, Classen has adopted i4F’s drop-lock system for its PP-based flooring products manufactured at its Kaisersesch, Germany facility—boasting a production capacity exceeding 20 million square meters. This partnership enables i4F to license out Classen’s patented PP technology to third-party manufacturers, expanding its sustainable board composition technologies portfolio to meet the flooring industry’s growing demand for eco-friendly solutions.
Polypropylene (PP) flooring is an innovative, lightweight, and highly durable alternative to traditional materials. Known for its water and chemical resistance, flexibility, and recyclability, PP flooring aligns with global sustainability initiatives while maintaining high-performance standards.
Classen is already making significant advancements in PP flooring production, including the development of a complete production line layout, from extrusion to finishing and profiling, backed by technical support. More updates on these developments are expected later this year.
Commenting on the partnership, Céline Quervel, Managing Director Sales of Classen Group, stated:
“We are excited to further strengthen our partnership with i4F through our innovative PP solutions. Our streamlined production approach, combined with i4F’s drop-lock system, ensures a superior and sustainable product offering that exceeds industry standards.”
John Rietveldt, CEO of i4F, added:
“Classen sets the benchmark for PP-based flooring, and we are proud to be entrusted with licensing their cutting-edge, recyclable solutions. This milestone reflects our shared vision for sustainability and innovation in the flooring industry.”
