Catas prepares for the first issue of Interzum Forum Italy

Catas is preparing to participate in the first edition of Interzum Forum Italy, the new biennial “exhibition and conference” dedicated to the world of subcontracting and contracting that will be held at the Bergamo trade fair. The event is scheduled to welcome its visitors from June 6 to June 7. Catas will be at Interzum Forum Italy for the whole duration of the exhibition (hall B, booth D1).

An exhibition that will be enhanced by a rich calendar of events, meetings and talk shows. The most important European laboratory for testing in the wood-furniture supply chain will be among the main protagonists of the forum program, by offering participants its experience and competence in the field of sustainability and of the increasingly stringent European regulations framework.

A double appointment awaits us in Bergamo: the first is scheduled for June 6 from 11 a.m. to 11.40 a.m., as part of the “Trend Stage” in hall B, during which Catas director Franco Bulian will address the topic “Environmental product certification: the demands of the Italian and international markets”.

On June 7, from 1.00 to 1.40 p.m., Matilde Ceschia will take the floor. The reference person for LCA-Life Cycle Assessment service at Catas will propose an interesting contribution entitled “Towards a circular economy: from the Ecodesign Directive to the Digital Product Passport (DPP)”.

“Our participation in the Bergamo event is a new opportunity for us to always be at the service of companies”,Franco Bulian commented. “Never before have companies been involved in profound and challenging changes on the environmental topics, starting with the European directive on “Green Claims”, which aims to combat greenwashing and counter the proliferation of those labels that are not supported by objective data.

Added to this is the possibility that Catas offers of scientifically measuring sustainability, thanks to the international protocol LCA, Life Cycle Assessment. This is the starting point for an eventual EPD-Environmental Product Declaration certification, as well as a way to monitor and take action on the actual consumption – in terms of both energy and resources – that a company has to face for any production cycle”.
