The Budimex Group has firmed up its status as a cornerstone of the Polish economy, announcing a massive PLN 6 billion investment in employee compensation and human capital since 2021. As the nation’s largest construction employer, the Group is currently spearheading a strategic expansion into high-growth sectors, including renewable energy and railway infrastructure, with plans to fill an additional 1,000 positions by the end of 2026.
With a current workforce of 7.6 thousand professionals, Budimex’s growth trajectory remains steep. Since 2021, the Group has successfully integrated 6,200 new employees into its ranks. A robust financial commitment supports this influx of talent; the company’s annual salary expenditure now averages approximately PLN 1.2 billion.
“One of the foundations of the Budimex Group is our competent leaders and committed teams,” says Anna Karyś-Sosińska, Member of the Management Board and HR Director at Budimex SA. “We prioritise stable employment, competitive remuneration, and genuine development opportunities as the primary drivers of our success.”
In an industry traditionally dominated by men, Budimex is making significant strides in social responsibility. Under its 2023–2026 ESG Strategy, the company has achieved a gender pay gap of just 3%. This figure is remarkably lower than both the Polish national average and European Union benchmarks, highlighting the company’s commitment to meritocracy.
The Group’s HR framework integrates health and safety, human rights, and compliance into every level of operation. By ensuring that compensation is dictated solely by competence and responsibility, Budimex has earned the title of “Responsible Employer – HR Leader” for several consecutive years.
The upcoming recruitment drive for 1,000 new roles by 2026 targets specialised engineering and execution positions. This move aligns with Budimex’s shifting focus toward the Green Energy sector—with goals to reach 500 MW of renewable capacity—and the modernisation of the Polish railway network.
Recent milestones include:
Budimex continues to bridge the gap between academia and the industry. Through the Budimex Academy and recent partnership agreements with institutions like the AGH University of Science and Technology and the University of Szczecin, the Group offers over 250 annual internship spots. These programs allow students to work on some of the largest infrastructure projects in Europe, ensuring a steady pipeline of talent for the future.
Beyond employment, Budimex is a vital contributor to Poland’s public finances. Minister of Finance Andrzej Domański recently recognised the company as the Largest CIT Payer in the Polish construction sector. Over the last decade, Budimex has contributed more than PLN 1.5 billion in Corporate Income Tax, with PLN 285 million paid in 2023 alone.
“Poland is where we build, employ, and pay taxes,” notes Artur Popko, President of the Management Board. “Our role extends beyond fulfilling contracts; we are a dedicated partner in the development of the Polish economy.”
With an order backlog reaching PLN 17.8 billion at the start of 2026, the Budimex Group is well-positioned to remain the leader of Poland’s construction landscape for years to come.
