Brucklacher-Office

The Brucklacher Group, the family-owned parent of renowned woodworking tool brands Leitz, Boehlerit, and Bilz, has inaugurated its expansive new headquarters at Leitzstraße 1 in Oberkochen, Germany. Comprising roughly 4,400 square meters, the modern complex unites the corporate functions and management teams of all three entities under one roof—and aligns with the company’s Sustainability Growth Strategy 2026. The construction and full renovation reportedly involved a double-digit million‑euro investment at the Oberkochen site.

Founded in 1876 in Oberkochen, the Leitz Group has evolved into a global leader in precision tooling for wood, wood-based materials, composites, and non-ferrous metals. The new headquarters marks another milestone in its 150-year family legacy, blending its rich heritage with cutting-edge architecture, workplace design, and digital tool technologies.

This new location now hosts the central operations for Leitz, Boehlerit, and Bilz, enhancing collaboration across research and development, logistics, IT, and media support. The three legally independent sister companies will benefit from shorter communication channels, streamlined decision-making, and co-development opportunities in tool technology and services. The result: a globally networked innovation centre based in Oberkochen.

Leitzstraße 1 serves not just as an administration site, but as the core of a sophisticated digital and logistics infrastructure. Equipped with global IT systems, media production, and logistics coordination, the facility positions Oberkochen as the nerve centre for tool technologists worldwide—from Germany to global markets. Consistent with its long-term roots, the Brucklacher Group worked closely with local regional contractors and suppliers during planning and construction. This approach highlights the company’s ongoing investment in the economic health of Baden-Württemberg and deep ties to the Oberkochen community.

Internally, the new facility embodies sustainable workplace design: energy-efficient systems, environmental materials, open floor plans to foster innovation, and infrastructure aligned with the “We shape the future” ethos known within Leitz and its sister brands. Dr. Cornelia Brucklacher, shareholder and fifth-generation representative of the founding family, underscored the symbolic value of the new building as a bridge between the past, present, and future. She reaffirmed the Group’s commitment to Oberkochen, responsibility toward its home region, and the long-term stewardship of the family business.

Grand opening ceremony

The ribbon‑cutting included a ceremonial key handover, where Dr. Brucklacher formally transferred symbolic control to the management teams of Leitz, Boehlerit, and Bilz. Dignitaries from politics, academia, and the wood‑working supply industry attended, underscoring the Group’s vision of sustainable global expansion anchored in strong local roots. The Oberkochen location now plays an even more central role in the Brucklacher Group’s global network. With 16 production sites, sales and service offices in 38 countries, and operations spanning 150+ nations, the Group employs over 4,000 people globally and posts nearly €450 million in annual revenue.

Leitz—as part of ACCO Brands EMEA—has publicly committed to reduced electricity consumption, net‑zero emissions, and cutting waste by 2025. As part of this broader strategy, the new headquarters aligns with environmental goals such as circular economy initiatives and clean energy usage at Leitz. Moreover, Leitz’s WeCare global campaign, which engages over 4,000 employees from Leitz, Boehlerit, and Bilz in sustainability and social service initiatives, reflects the Group’s broader cultural commitment to environmental and social responsibility.

For wood and woodworking professionals, this development signals Leitz’s reinforced capacity for innovative tool R&D, precise global logistics, and sustainable manufacturing practices. The unification of expertise across three specialized groups offers customers optimized tooling systems, improved technical support, and coordinated product development—all supporting demands for precision, material efficiency, and reduced CO₂ footprints in modern wood product manufacturing.
