Borm Symposium

The Borm Symposium 2024, held on June 6th, exceeded all expectations, drawing 300 participants from across the globe. This year’s event revolved around the theme “Optimal Use of Resources,” providing attendees with actionable insights into advancing product and company development.

The symposium featured twelve diverse workshops covering critical topics like materials management, construction, operational processes, and the latest ERP and CAD functionalities. The high turnout underscored the significant interest in the innovative solutions and developments presented.

A notable highlight of the event was the retirement of Josef Föhn, the former CEO of Borm and current Chairman of the Board. In a symbolic handover, his shares in the company were transferred to Luca Föhn, who has been a key player in the operational management team for the past two years.

The symposium was further enriched by three compelling keynote presentations that delved into the theme of resource optimization from various angles. Prof. Rolf Staiger gave a deep and practical insight into personnel and process-related components and answered questions on “What skills are necessary for a successful digital future in SMEs?” Markus Fuhrer impressively demonstrated what we as manufacturing companies will have to prepare for in the future. Marc Hauser presented with a lot of charm and humor how we can use passion, daring and confidence to advance our craft.

Overall, the Borm Symposium 2024 was a resounding success, offering a wealth of knowledge and networking opportunities. It set a new benchmark for future events focused on optimizing resources and fostering innovation in business and manufacturing.
