Biesse reaches milestone with export of 10,000 machines from India

Biesse, a global leader in woodworking machinery and a manufacturer of integrated solutions for processing wood, glass, stone, plastic, and composite materials, has achieved a significant milestone by exporting 10,000 machines to over 75 countries across six continents from its Indian operations. This achievement underscores the global demand for Biesse’s premium products and services, while also highlighting the company’s commitment to the “Make in India” initiative. The success is attributed to Biesse’s adept localisation of European expertise, skills, and technology within its manufacturing in India.

Biesse provides state-of-the-art machines and technological solutions that adhere to European standards, reflecting its dedication to excellence. With approximately 80% of its production exported globally, the company remains a leader in cutting-edge technology and innovation.

Sayeed Ahmed, CEO of Biesse India, commented on the achievement: “Biesse’s manufacturing facility in Bangalore is the largest outside Italy and plays a crucial role in our operations, not only within India but also in major global markets. We are committed to empowering our workforce with advanced manufacturing skills, which enables them to produce world-class machines. This milestone reflects the dedication and expertise of our employees, and we are focused on scaling up production further. We also aim to expand into industries like glass, stone, and advanced materials, enhancing our presence as a multi-material processing solutions provider.”

In addition to exporting machines, Biesse India also supports its international markets by sending skilled engineers to subsidiaries worldwide, ensuring top-notch service for the machines exported from India.

The Indian government’s initiatives to impose trade barriers on substandard imports have further bolstered demand for high-quality, made-in-India products. The growing requirement for BIS-certified machinery, coupled with the rise of factory automation and expanding markets in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, promises a significant boost to Biesse’s sales.

As part of its growth strategy, Biesse is expanding its product range and investing in product development at its Bengaluru facility. The company’s in-house technical team continues to innovate, working on new projects to address customer challenges and enhance production processes globally.
