Another victim of the pandemic threat as the organisers recently decided to postpone the APF – International Forest Machinery Exhibition Ltd from 2021 to 2022. After consulting with the participants and considering the travelling apprehensions of the sponsors, exhibitors and visitors, the Directors of APF 2021 finally decided to postpone the event to September 2022.
The APF Exhibition is one of the UK’s largest forestry, woodland, arboriculture, fencing and biomass event. APF Exhibition caters to forestry, woodland and tree care industries and fencing domain, farming industry participates in the show as several machines and equipment designing brands introduce their innovations to the market here. The show is platform to discuss and exchange opinion on producing and utilising timber as woodfuel as firewood or woodchips is also strongly featured as are biomass boilers.
The decision of postponing the event was taken after close consideration of several factors, and discussion with the exhibitors, participants and visitors. Some of the key factors that led to the decision are;
- Present ban on the mass gathering
- 80% exhibitors supported the decision of postponement
- Exhibitors needed additional time for ordering machinery
- Restrictions and quarantine norms still imposed on UK visitors are likely to impact on the exhibition
- Health concerns and virus threat of subsequent waves
Exhibition Secretary, Ian Millward commented “It is heartbreaking that for a secondtime we have had to make this decision. But, taking all of the above into account, itbecame obvious that the only sensible option was to postpone until September 2022.”
