Alanod showcased their newest technology for kitchen furniture and appliances at SICAM in October to an applauding audience. Never has Alanod created metal this thin, for kitchen interiors, furniture, and household appliances. The new DECO PRIME® aluminium foils offer a decorative, refined, sustainable and cost-effective solution for interior design manufacturers. Anodising technology combined with a new special lacquering process is what makes this product so unique. The new DECO PRIME® metal surfaces are 0,1 mm thin, available in brushed, milled, or mirror finish and in a variety of different colours.

This revolutionary new lacquer technology creates a new generation of products for Alanod. Marco Malighetti, Head of Marketing & Sales, explained: “Each lacquering process comes after a dedicated pre-treatment of the surface that is optimised according to the nature of the lacquer and the requested performance. Alanod can equip the reverse side of the metal with primers for ease of use on multiple surfaces. DECO PRIME® thin metal can be then used to wrap profiles made of other materials (ABS/PVC, wood, MDF or extruded aluminium) to give the profile a real metal appearance and haptic feeling. The extremely bendable MAST treatment allows for a very small bending radius grating, for an optimal execution of complex profiles.”

Malighetti explains: “The soft touch on a metal surface is quite a unique experience. Our MAST treatment is unexpectedly smooth and delicate and at the same time, anti-fingerprint, as well as wear-resistant. These features make MAST the ideal solution on surfaces that require frequent access such as cabinet doors or linear drawer handles.” He went on further to say: “MAST series is also resistant to stains and chemicals, perfect for kitchen backsplashes. Ideally you can build a complete kitchen using the same MAST product finishes – from forming the doors of the wall unit, to panel edges, cabinets, drawers, gola profiles, linear handles, and bottom plinths.”
