In a significant move to enhance its medium-density fiberboard (MDF) production capabilities, Action Tesa, a prominent name in India’s woodworking and building materials sector, has selected ANDRITZ, a global technology leader, to supply a cutting-edge pressurized refining system for its new production facility in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The system, with a processing capacity of 33 tons per hour, is set to begin operations in the second quarter of 2026.

This new refining system will play a pivotal role in boosting Action Tesa’s fiber production, allowing the company to deliver even higher quality MDF products. Central to the system’s design is a 20” plug screw feeder, which features advanced compression housing equipped with AdvaProtect segments. This innovation ensures easier servicing directly at the customer site, eliminating the need for spare housing—a major advantage for operational efficiency.

In addition to the plug screw feeder, the pressurized refining system includes an S1056 refiner, a state-of-the-art pressurized digester with counterflow and steam regulation capabilities, and a C-Feeder concept that enhances material handling. These advanced components are set to streamline production processes, increase reliability, and improve the overall performance of Action Tesa’s new MDF line.

Vivek Jain, Managing Director at Action Tesa, expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating, “We are thrilled to partner with ANDRITZ for our new MDF line. Their proven track record of delivering reliable, high-performance fiber processing systems makes them the ideal choice for this crucial project. We are confident that our partnership will ensure a smooth startup and successful operations in 2026.”

The value of the contract remains undisclosed but is included in ANDRITZ’s order intake for the third quarter of 2025.

Action Tesa, recognized for its innovation and commitment to quality and sustainability, continues to lead the Indian woodworking industry with its sustainable growth strategies. The company’s choice to integrate ANDRITZ’s advanced technology into its new facility underscores its dedication to staying at the forefront of the MDF production market, ensuring the highest quality standards for its customers and contributing to the growth of India’s woodworking sector.

As India’s demand for high-quality MDF and other engineered wood products continues to rise, this partnership between Action Tesa and ANDRITZ is poised to help meet that demand efficiently and sustainably.
