Vinit Amol Bhatia

Vinit Amol Bhatia, CEO, Giardina India speaks to Wood & Panel on their participation and expectations from IndiaWood, wood finishing technology, Roller Coater line, spray booths, robotic line, expansion plan in Indian market, and many more.

woodandpaneleurope Tell us about your presence in the Indian market?
Vinit Amol Bhatia: Giardina Group has been in the wood finishing industry since 1972. We have recently started seeing the potential in the Indian market so we have set up in partnership with Vinpack India; a 50,000 sq ft facility to showcase wood finishing technology from Europe. The machines we make are basically roller coaters, robotic lines, edge moulding machines and all different types of wood finishing solutions for the final finish.

woodandpaneleurope What are your expectations from this edition of IndiaWood?
Vinit Amol Bhatia: This year we are trying to see and get potential clients, showcase our technologies, since it is the first time many people are seeing this. We are trying to show that the automated solution is not necessarily an unaffordable solution.

woodandpaneleurope How has been the response for Giardina products here at IndiaWood?
Vinit Amol Bhatia: Well, we had a very good response from many people from all different areas. From small carpenters to very large furniture companies, to even other machine manufacturers who wish to provide end to end solutions to their customers.

woodandpaneleurope What are you primarily showcasing here?
Vinit Amol Bhatia: So right now, we have a Roller Coater line, that we are doing high gloss and matte for different suppliers like ICA, Renner, Sherwin Williams and many other companies. We are trying to show them the speed, the efficiency and the quality of the finish. We have a small set up here. However, people can come and see the whole set up at our Experience Centre in Bangalore.

woodandpaneleurope What are the marketing strategies going forward in 2020?
Vinit Amol Bhatia: We are looking at targeting people by showcasing at more exhibitions, by organizing road shows for that. We are also working on the skill development of people and exposing them to the technology. We are even planning to actually set up a training academy here in India, so that we can bring Italians, the Europeans and other industry experts to teach, not necessarily because they are going to buy our machines, but to learn the technology such as what is good technology.

woodandpaneleurope What are your expansion plans?
Vinit Amol Bhatia: Well, we have started with this 50,000 sq ft facility and we are looking at the North in the two years’ time. We are also looking to grow outside India as the company is already there in twenty four different markets. We have a big set up in America, a big set up in Italy and now India is our big target.
