Till Uhle, Director Marketing & Director Sales, NESTRO, enlighten us on the recent COVID-19 pandemic, digital technology, global woodworking industry’s recent situation and more. Excerpts.
The ongoing Coronavirus pandemic has disrupted the way a company functions! How are you coping with that?
Till Uhle: At NESTRO our CEO has given strict advices to all our personnel following the recommendation of our national health board. Several people are also working from their home office. We have installed CIRCUIT by Unify on all laptops of our sales staff for video conferencing.
What about the supply chain? How are you addressing to the challenges?
Till Uhle: We have long term relationships with our suppliers in Germany as well as in neighborhood countries. So far we are able to fulfill the needs of our customers relying on our solid supplier network.
All major exhibitions are either postponed or cancelled! How does this affect your brand? Are you planning any alternate brand promotion strategy?
Till Uhle: We will implement other and different marketing tools to keep the NESTRO brand visible and part of the relevant set in our customers’ minds. We are allocating parts of the budgets not spent for exhibitions here.
Digital technology is something one must adopt to cope up this crisis. Where do you place yourself when it comes to digital technology? How are you now connected to your customers?
Till Uhle: We try to be innovative and lead the way for our industry. Right now we get so many agency calls. It feels good to already have the right partners on board for a pretty long time.
Keeping hopes high, this too shall pass soon. But what will be its impact on the global woodworking industry?
Till Uhle: Who can say? Every day you have a new information status. I can only promise that NESTRO will be there – side by side with our customers.
