“I think our key strategy is to focus on fully integrated, well-balanced systems rather than standalone products.” – Ewa Wachsman.

As one of the pioneers in modern filtration and dust collection technology, Filtrowent delivers precision-engineered solutions to its customers. The company is committed to ensuring safe and healthy production environments through well-designed and reliable systems.

We had the opportunity to speak with Ewa Wachsman, Sales and Development Manager at Filtrowent, who shared valuable insights into the company’s focus, strategic direction, and long-term commitment. Excerpts.

WPE: As one of the leading providers of filteration and dust collection technology, how would you describe your company’s approach and key strengths?

Ewa Wachsman: The very first thing that comes to mind is our thorough approach and in-depth analysis of every installation we deliver. We position ourselves as a partner rather than just a supplier focusing not only on technical performance, but also on educating our customers — many of whom are not fully aware of the risks that industrial dusts pose to health, safety, and production continuity.

Our key strengths are definitely our people and our flexibility. Our team combines strong engineering know-how with a practical, on-site experience which allows us to adapt each solution to the specific needs of the customer and the realities of their process.

We support both end customers and engineering partners by delivering both complete dust extraction systems and high-quality components (dust collectors, cyclones, rotary valves, piping systems, ATEX protection systems, etc) for companies that design and install their own dedusting solutions.

Our components are not only well-engineered, but also proven in real operating conditions, tested in our own installations, and built for long-term reliability. This ensures our partners can rely on consistent, safe performance even in demanding industrial environments.

WPE: What are the latest technological advancements in this specific area of focus, and how do they align with prevailing industry trends?

Ewa Wachsman: Across the dust extraction industry, we’re seeing several clear technological trends, among them are: digitalization — modern systems increasingly integrate smart sensors and IoT solutions that allow real-time monitoring of performance, predictive maintenance, and optimization of energy consumption.

The continuous improvement of filtration efficiency – new filter media, including nanofibre technologies, enable the capture of finer and more hazardous particles, which is becoming essential as health, safety, and environmental regulations become more stringent.

At the same time, there is a strong shift towards energy-efficiency and sustainability as well as modular and highly customized systems that can be adapted to specific industrial processes.

These trends are very much aligned with what customers expect today — not just compliance, but reliable, flexible and future-proof solutions. In this context, our approach at Filtrowent fits well within the broader industry direction: we focus on practical, tailor-made systems, real operating efficiency, and solutions that can evolve with the customer’s production and regulatory requirements.

WPE: According to you, how do industrial dust collection solutions contribute to optimizing the productivity and efficiency of woodworking industry?

Ewa Wachsman: Industrial dust collection systems are a key enabler of productivity, not just an environmental add-on. Their impact is felt across the entire production process.

First, they directly improve machine uptime. Efficient extraction prevents dust and chips from accumulating on cutting tools, machines, and conveyors, which reduces wear, overheating, and unexpected stoppages. This means fewer interruptions and more stable production flow.

Second, they support consistent product quality. In woodworking, even small amounts of residual dust can affect surface finishing, bonding, or coating processes. A well-designed extraction system ensures cleaner workpieces and more repeatable results, reducing rejects and rework.

Third, they increase overall process efficiency and energy performance. Modern systems are designed to optimize airflow and reduce resistance in the installation, which lowers energy consumption while maintaining effective extraction at multiple production points.

WPE: Given the highly competitive nature of the dust collection, and air filtration markets, what key strategies do you employ to differentiate your solutions and maintain a competitive edge?

Ewa Wachsman: That is very true, the market is highly competitive. I think our key strategy is to focus on fully integrated, well-balanced systems rather than standalone products. We ensure that every component — from extraction and filtration through to transport and storage – is precisely matched within one coherent solution. This system-level approach helps avoid inefficiencies, ensures stable, predictable performance in real operating conditions.

Apart from dust extraction itself we offer complete material handling solutions, including waste transport and storage systems, sometimes even combined with pellet or briquette production – a closed circle. This allows us to support the entire process chain, not just air filtration.

Finally, we position our solutions as long-term investments. Our focus is on durability, operational stability, and low lifecycle risk, so customers gain equipment that not only performs well at start-up, but continues to deliver reliable operation over many years.

WPE: Sustainability has become a major focus specially in the woodworking industry. what does sustainability mean to Filtrowent, and how do you incorporate this vision into your products and practices?

Ewa Wachsman: For Filtrowent, sustainability means designing solutions that are efficient, durable, and responsible over their entire lifecycle.

We focus on energy-efficient systems with optimized airflow and well-matched components to reduce power consumption, while ensuring effective filtration and compliance with environmental standards. Overall, sustainability is not a separate element for us, but something integrated into how we design and deliver every solution.

WPE: Lastly, what marketing strategies will you adopt to stay ahead in the evolving market?

Ewa Wachsman: At Filtrowent, we will continue to focus on shifting from product-based communication to a solution- and expertise-led positioning, strengthening our visibility across key industrial decision channels.

A key part of this strategy is publishing practical, experience-based content around real production challenges — including dust-related risks, energy efficiency, system design considerations, and lifecycle costs.

We are also going to emphasize the educational aspect in our communication, because awareness of dust hazards is still underestimated in many industries. This helps us build a stronger common understanding with our customers, where safety and people behind the processes are always the priority.

Plus strengthening partnerships with OEMs, installers, and engineering companies through technical support, co-marketing, and long-term collaboration as this builds trust so important in business relations.
