Sandvik is going to focus on Process Systems at WMF

 Tuesday, March 29, 2016

indexPress belt manufacturer Sandvik will focus on the support infrastructure that enables producers to achieve premium product quality while at the same time maximizing productivity. Examples of this include tools and techniques for achieving “invisible” repairs and tighter tolerances for welds in regard to thickness and flatness deviation.

Sandvik is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high-quality steel press belts for the production of particle board, MDF, OSB and coated boards. The company supplies belts in four main steel grades to suit different requirements – 1300C, 1320C, 1500SM and 1650SM – and can deliver belts in thicknesses from 1.0 to 3.5 mm, and in widths of up to 4,620 mm.

Sandvik has announced the roll-out of a new global service organization that will see a more than 50% increase in the number of service engineers available to support customers worldwide. This will help customers achieve maximum product quality – an important differentiating factor in what is an increasingly competitive market – while the same time maximising press productivity.

sandvikThe company will also highlight the benefits of its QuickTool family of field service tools including the new QuickAnnealer. Designed to complement its existing QuickDisc cut-and-replace repair tool, the QuickAnnealer heats up the area of the weld. This improves and hardens the micro-structure of the weld, making it closer to that of the original material and therefore eliminating the ring marking that can sometimes be seen on sensitive products after a repair.
