Raute Corporation, a leader in the wood processing machinery sector, has announced a key leadership change, appointing Timo Kupsanen as Executive Vice President (EVP) of Analyzers. The appointment, effective May 1, 2026, marks a significant move for Raute as they continue to advance their strategy of global business growth and customer-centric development.
Kupsanen will also join Raute’s Executive Board, reporting directly to Mika Saariaho, the President and CEO of Raute Corporation. His strong background in sales and service leadership will prove invaluable as he steps into this new role. His experience, particularly in business development and customer value, makes him an excellent fit for Raute’s goals.
In parallel with this transition, Markus Sirviö, the current EVP of Analyzers, will step down from the Executive Board and transition into a new role within the company. Starting May 1, Sirviö will report to Kupsanen in his new position. The changes ensure a seamless shift in leadership, securing business continuity and paving the way for further development at Raute.
Timo Kupsanen Brings Strong Leadership Experience
Timo Kupsanen, aged 40, has a wealth of experience that makes him a perfect match for Raute’s next phase of growth. He comes to Raute from Laitex, where he served as Senior Vice President (SVP) and Head of the Business Unit Mined and Recycled. Prior to his role at Laitex, Kupsanen was involved in leadership roles at Outotec, bringing deep knowledge of global business operations and customer engagement to his new role at Raute.
“I warmly welcome Timo Kupsanen to our team,” said Mika Saariaho, President and CEO of Raute. “Timo has valuable global experience from a business environment closely related to Raute’s customer base, as well as a strong track record in successfully driving business growth. Timo’s leadership approach is customer-focused, which is essential as we continue to develop our portfolio and drive profitable growth in line with our strategy.”
Kupsanen’s leadership style is centered around customer focus, a key element that aligns perfectly with Raute’s strategy of building a strong customer base and ensuring the continued growth of its business. This customer-first mindset will be crucial as Raute refines and expands its offering, further solidifying its position as an industry leader in wood processing machinery.
Seamless Leadership Transition Ensures Continued Success
Markus Sirviö, who has been serving as EVP of Analyzers, will remain an integral part of the Raute team. Sirviö will move to a new role within the company, with Kupsanen taking over leadership responsibilities for the Analyzers business unit. This transition, according to Saariaho, ensures good business continuity and a smooth shift in leadership.
“I want to thank Markus for his contribution in the Executive Board and wish him best of success in his new role and continuing career at Raute,” Saariaho added.
With these strategic changes in leadership, Raute is set to continue its steady growth trajectory, focusing on developing cutting-edge technology in its analyzers division. The company’s leadership team remains committed to strengthening its global reach while driving the business forward, in line with Raute’s long-term strategy.
