Conference program offers new formats for learning about trends

The second day of the LIGNA.Innovation Network brings further highlights, the conference programme offers many opportunities to find out about the latest trends and make new contacts.

LIGNA.Forum digital features recognized industry experts on the focus topics of Prefab Building Processes and Woodworking Transformation.The morning continues the focus topic Woodworking Transformation and includes lectures on “Digitalization & AI as a contribution to resource management”, “Production of a Sample Piece of Furniture using RFID technology ” and “Diversification as a Result of end-to-end Digitalization”. Speakers also explain how diversification can be achieved as a result of end-to-end digitalization and how investments can be optimized and planned more securely.In Addition, “Connexion”, a panel discussion to discover the digital transformation, is on the agenda. The discussion round on “Robotics in the wood and furniture industry” will conclude the morning programme.

In the afternoon, the focus topic Prefab Building Processes is on the agenda. A panel discussion will discuss how to remain competitive with efficient CLT and GLT production in the face of high raw material costs. Afterwards the topic “Mass Timber – Global Markets and Technological Developments” is on the programme. In addition,Holzbau Deutschland will present the German Timber Construction Prize 2021.

The Wood Industry Summit digital will also feature recognized industry experts on the topics of Green Material Processing – Process Technologies of the Bioeconomy.

The second conference day begins with a series of presentations on the digitalization of supply chain management in the sustainable forestry and wood industry. Thereby it is about tracking and traceability in forestry and technical prerequisites for sustainable supply chains. Also on the agenda are predictive forest road maintenance theblockchain technology and digitization of supply chain management in sustainable forestry and wood industry.

What will sawmill technology look like in 2030? Will there be special processes and what can be expected here? A look into the future is given on these topics.

Further more a round table will address the topic “Sustainable and Innovative – Forest Owners as Pillars of the Green Industry” and present the sustainability expertise of forest owners as part of the Forestry and Wood Cluster. Rethinking wood use – perspectives on processing and product design is the last thematic block of the Summit.Lectures about Charta for Wood 2.0, Wood-based fibre solution and Biorefineries and emerging bioproducts round off the programme. It will end with an outlook on “Where does the bioeconomy stand in 2030?” and trends in using woodworking equipment in Russia.
