CIFM / interzum guangzhou 2026 opened on 28 March at the Canton Fair Complex in Guangzhou, China, reaffirming its position as a major platform for the global furniture manufacturing industry. The exhibition covered an expansive 180,000 square metres and brought together approximately 1,600 leading companies from across the value chain. A strong international presence was observed, reflecting the growing integration of global markets.
The event was organised under the theme “Smart Revolution”, highlighting the industry’s ongoing transition towards intelligent manufacturing. Digitalisation and automation were emphasised throughout the exhibition. These trends were clearly reflected in both product showcases and technical discussions. More than 250 international brands participated, indicating a notable expansion in global engagement. The exhibition layout was structured to enhance accessibility and improve sector-specific focus.
In Area B, the International Machinery Zone featured advanced manufacturing technologies and solutions. Companies such as HOMAG, CEFLA, WEINIG, BECKER, IMA Schelling and Paolino Bacci presented their latest developments. Their innovations were aimed at improving efficiency and precision in production processes. Technology providers including PYTHA, Freud, GreCon, Leitz, LEUCO and Hiteco also demonstrated specialised solutions. Industry associations such as the Taiwan Woodworking Machinery Association (TWMA), Alder and SGG contributed to the display, reinforcing regional collaboration.
Area C housed the International Hall, which focused on materials, components and accessories. This section brought together leading suppliers from various segments. Interior and decorative material providers such as Chiyoda, DECOR DRUCK LEIPZIG, Impress, Interprint and LamiGraf were present. Companies including REHAU, Renolit, Schattdecor and UNILIN also showcased their offerings. Hardware and component solutions were represented by brands such as Cyber Lock, Ferrari, LS Lighting and OVVO, alongside Velora and the Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters’ Association.
The upholstery and bedding segment was strongly represented by Ateja, Aydin Tekstil, Bodet & Horst and Boyteks Tekstil. Functional solution providers such as DewertOkin, Earthfoam and LINAK also participated. In the wood and panel segment, companies including Eurochene, Pfleiderer and Swiss Krono were featured. International organisations such as the American Hardwood Export Council, American Softwood, the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, the Malaysian Timber Council and the Quebec Wood Export Bureau (QWEB) were also involved.
Adhesives and surface treatment technologies formed another key segment. Companies such as Bostik, H.B. Fuller, Henkel, Jowat SE and KLEIBERIT presented their solutions. PNZ and SIMALFA® were also included in this category. These offerings highlighted advancements in bonding technologies and surface performance.
Several key events were organised alongside the exhibition to enhance industry collaboration. On the opening day, the interzum guangzhou Award Ceremony was held, during which 15 winners were recognised for their contributions to innovation and design. The “interzum guangzhou Exclusive” Award was presented to PT. ATEJA, L&S, OVVO, TiMOTION and Kaidi Electrical. Meanwhile, the “Outstanding Furniture Accessories” Award was received by limoss, Schattdecor, Aydin Tekstil, SIMALFA®, Henkel, LINAK, DewertOkin, PRINTECH KR, REHAU and Remacro. Recognition was given to both functional excellence and design innovation.
Michiel Kruse, Managing Director of Koelnmesse (Beijing) Co., Ltd., addressed the audience and emphasised the importance of collaboration within the industry. The event’s theme was highlighted as a reflection of shared vision among stakeholders. The role of partnerships in driving innovation was underlined.
A series of forums took place during the exhibition. These sessions addressed emerging trends and provided insights into future developments. The VSIL Forum was held on the opening afternoon, focusing on emotion-driven smart manufacturing. Experts from design, trend forecasting and production shared their perspectives. Speakers included Kristina Meyer from byform produktdesign, Mia Wang from WGSN, Zhanyu Li from MAG-G, Philip Zhou from Schattdecor and Selcuk Aslantas from Boyteks.
On 29 March, the forum shifted its focus to technological innovation and colour trends. Industry representatives from Henkel, LINAK, Renolit and SIMALFA® contributed to the discussions. Another key event, the “Wood Vision—2026 Wood Veneer Finishing Technology Forum”, brought together experts from ALPI, Mehling & Wiesmann, Sherwin-Williams and SYGD. Advanced finishing technologies were explored in detail.
The exhibition ran until 31 March and provided a comprehensive overview of current innovations in furniture manufacturing. Business matchmaking sessions were organised to facilitate direct engagement between suppliers and buyers. Technical presentations were also delivered. CIFM / interzum guangzhou 2026 demonstrated that smart manufacturing had become a central pillar of the industry’s evolution.
