i4F, a group of companies providing patents and technologies to the flooring industry, recently announced that CFL Flooring has signed a new license agreement for i4F’s patented click-to-lock wall installation system. This new license agreement enables CFL to expand its successful range of bathroom as well as other wall tiles and panels. The patented innovation was developed by i4F and belongs to the group’s Wall & Ceiling Technologies cluster.

CFL will introduce the wall installation technology into several of its Vertical Solution ranges as from Q2 2023.  Each panel will feature a variety of different i4F technologies:  i4F’s click-to-lock wall system as well as i4F’s low gloss surface finishing delivering a homogeneous and consistent matt appearance with superior performance.

i4F’s highly flexible installation system delivers an innovative click-to-lock system that works with screws or nails on slats or with glue-down panels. This makes wall panel installation easier than ever before by giving end-users the option to either screw, nail or glue wall panels before clicking them into each other. Obstructions caused by protruding screws are eliminated as the wall system enables screws, including screwheads, to be fully inserted and fastened into the locking. As a result, protrusions hindering the installation of the next panel are removed. The new system works on all materials and is moisture as well as heat-resistant.

Thomas Baert, CFL’s CEO comments, “End consumers want their floors and walls to seamlessly entwine. This was previously a ‘professionals only’ job, but now i4F’s easy system allows both installers and keen DIYers to build spectacular results on any wall in the house.”

i4F’s CEO, John Rietveldt, says, “We are delighted that CFL is introducing our new wall installation technology that allows floors and walls to meet. This technology is a no-brainer for manufacturers looking to leverage existing collections that combine floors and walls. We are especially proud of this home-grown i4F innovation as it aligns with our easy-to-use technology ethos. Thanks to this, the installation of wall panels becomes easier, faster, and cleaner. No more unsightly protrusions, no inserts, just beautiful walls.”
