CanforCanfor has completed the purchase agreement with Scotch & Gulf Lumber, LLC. The purchase agreement reflects the acquisition of Scotch Gulf Lumber over a three year period with the first phase representing a 25% interest.

Don Kayne, Canfor’s President and CEO said, “Scotch Gulf Lumber is a strong high performing organization and will contribute to the overall strength of our Company. We look forward to working with the Scotch Gulf management team.”
Don Kayne was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Canfor Corporation on May 5, 2011. He was additionally appointed Chief Executive Officer of Canfor Pulp Products Incorporated on September 30, 2012.

Canfor is a story of people; about how two entrepreneurs created an enterprise that grew from a modest beginning to become one of Canada’s major forest products companies. The company traces its roots to the late 1930s, when brothers-in-law John G. Prentice and L.L.G. “Poldi” Bentley and their families left their native Austria as the clouds of war gathered over Europe.
Canfor operates manufacturing facilities in the Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, and Quebec, as well as in the Southern US states of North and South Carolina.

One Response to Agreement Between Canfor And Scotch Gulf Lumber

  1. PABLO KORACH says:

    Good morning
My comment is the influence that European immigrants and forest industry entrepreneurs had in the development of the forest industries in B.C
I am a third generation of those who immigfrated not to Canada but to CHILE.
In 1956 my father Arturo Korach came to Vancouver for a visit to my sisters family john Friesen and Martha I was aking a Masters degree in Chemical Engineering at UBC A photo was taken in that event where about ten of the founders of large forest companies were invited tO chat with us and remember the old timeS For me this was one
of the most important events of my life and they inspired my innovative career to follow
Anyway sorry if this was not the purpose of the discussion
