According to the Federal German Statistical Office, there was growth of 9.5% to 200,466 in the number of housing units completed in Germany last year. Of that number, 180,611 units were completed in newly erected buildings, representing a rise of 10%.
The completion rate in residential buildings was up year on year by 9.6% to 176,617, with the number of detached houses increasing by 4% to 84,324 and the number of semi-detached houses showing a minimal rise to 15,970. Completions of apartments in multi-dwelling units showed above-average growth of 16% to 71,041 units.
