Université Laval and FPInnovations to host IWMS-22

 Thursday, June 4, 2015

iwms22Université Laval and FPInnovations are proud to host the 22nd International Wood Machining Seminar (IWMS-22) to be held on June 14-17, 2015, Quebec City, Canada. This Seminar continues a distinguished series of meetings that began in 1963. Its purpose is to offer teachers, researchers, and engineers a platform for networking and exchanging knowledge on the latest advancements in the processing of wood and wood products.

The topics of interest will include: primary and secondary machining processes, cutting mechanisms, surface quality, tool materials, eco-friendly machining, enhanced performance, and future applications. An industrial post-seminar tour will also be organized. The official conference language will be English.

This time the venue is the Centre de Recherche sur les Matériaux Renouvelables, CRMR, (Renewable Materials Research Centre). The seminar will include researchers and research groups from several universities and industrial institutes, with the goals of promoting research and development, and, in cooperation with the industrial sector, training experts in applied and fundamental research techniques on wood and lignocellulosic materials. The Laval group of the CRMR is located in the Gene-H.-Kruger building on the campus of Université Laval. The best part is that is a unique green building designed in engineered wood, which houses high-tech laboratory equipment for wood science and engineering research.

Sponsors include Leuco, Champeau, Linck, Nap Gladu etc. Registration is on for the conference.
