Tunadal Sawmill gets new saw line with new technology

 Friday, October 21, 2016

tunadalOn May 18, the new saw line at Tunadal sawmill entered commission following two and half years work. The first logs were sawn without a hitch and on schedule – testament to the effort that has gone into this project.

The new saw line will result in significant changes at Tunadal sawmill. Three saw lines have been replaced with a single line and entirely new technology. From the brand new control room, the operators will be able to oversee and regulate the entire process from intake to raw sorting.

This is the fastest saw line yet supplied by the company Linck which is now entering commission at Tunadal. It has a capacity of 200 metres a minute. The new Linck line provides lots of major advantages.

“There are two areas in particular that I’d like to highlight – a better and safer working environment for our operating and maintenance staff, and our customers will see greater precision in our products and increased security of supply,” says Katarina Levin, Manager of Tunadal sawmill.
