Paul Ott showcased innovative robotic system at LIGNA 2019

 Thursday, October 10, 2019

Exhibiting at an impressively spacious trade fair stand, Paul Ott GmbH returned to Hannover in late May for LIGNA 2019, where it once again proved its prowess as a solution provider for specialized customer requirements. Its showcase included the trade fair debut of a TransEdge system fitted with an integrated Yaskawa robot arm, which will be responsible for parts handling from now on.

This edgebanding center also features two gluing systems for processing PUR adhesives – one for white and one for transparent. To minimize the time required between gluing and further processing, both have separate compression zones and can be loaded with multi-edge magazines. The system was specially designed for a particular customer because no standard solution matched the requirements expressed in that case. According to Ott, virtually all of its edgebanding centers have been tailored to reflect its customers’ specific needs and circumstances. For Beatrix Brunner, the company’s managing director, devising an appropriate course of action calls for close consultation with the customer, as this is the only way to properly plan and execute the right solution.

Another highlight on show at LIGNA 2019 was a smaller edgebander from the Storm+ series, which has been expanded to fully integrate a TransLift+ return and control system. This just goes to show Ott can even devise custom solutions for smaller plants and machines, with the space available at the customer’s premises being the only constraint. On that note, the company has yet another innovation up its sleeve that it’s saving for the end of the year, when its Pacific series is due to be revived in the new Pacific+ generation, a compact yet high-quality solution featuring tried-and-tested Ott CombiMelt gluing technology and measuring just 5.7 meters in length.
