Poppy Signs replaces with Anti-Scratch Laminate of Drytac

 Monday, July 9, 2018

drytacChorley-based Poppy Signs has been converted to Drytac’s Protac Anti-Scratch laminate, following its installation at the offices of theidol.com, a web-based insurance provider based in Penrith, Cumbria.

Dave McDonald, Managing Director of Poppy Signs, explains: “We recently carried out a job on an internal glass partition for theidol.com that was finished with a regular clear laminate. Unfortunately, the surface scuff marks left by the squeegees looked really obvious, unsightly and didn’t fade out as we would normally expect after a few days. We are fully focused on customer service and do everything we can to ensure our customers have the best possible graphics solution, so clearly this wasn’t good enough.”

Poppy Signs decided to trial Drytac’s Protac Anti-Scratch laminate instead. David McDonald continues: “In our tests at the workshop it was hard to make any marks whatsoever – whatever we tried attacking it with!”

Following the successful testing of the Drytac film, Poppy Signs returned to the customer to replace the graphics. “We stripped the glass partition and reapplied the whole graphic, this time finishing it with Drytac Protac Anti-Scratch laminate. The end result was stunning – and didn’t leave the slightest application mark on the material surface. The customer is extremely happy with the new graphics.”

Drytac Protac Anti-Scratch PVC laminate is suitable for indoor and outdoor displays in high-traffic areas and for graphics displayed under direct lighting. The high coat-weight and strength of the adhesive makes Protac ideal for laminating over UV inks, as well as solvent, eco-solvent and latex prints.

Available in 75µ and 100µ coat weights and a crystal-clear gloss finish or a non-glare matte finish, Drytac’s Protac Anti-Scratch has a non-marking, anti-scratch surface to prevent damage and blemishes, whilst at the same time offering UV protection when used for outdoor applications.

Since first using Drytac Protac Anti-Scratch, Poppy Signs is now using it for all graphics applications that require a durable scratch-resistant finish. David McDonald concludes: “Poppy Signs is now a convert to Drytac laminates. The laminate is very durable and we have full confidence in its scratch-resistance – even for more demanding installations. This product really does do what it says on the tin!”
