A house-event on CNC Technology from HOMAG

 Monday, May 2, 2016

homag copyAs the need for quicker set ups, higher quality and more efficient production techniques become more important than ever, there’s never been a better time to invest in CNC machinery. Gone are the days when CNC technology was only for the mass producer or larger companies; today’s machinery is fast, efficient, easy to use, versatile and most importantly, affordable by all levels of industry.

A wide range of entry level and volume-producing CNC machinery will be amongst a host of technologically advanced equipment demonstrated by Homag UK at its two day open house, running on May 11 to 12 at its Castle Donington showroom, Derby.
Whether one is considering investing in CNC machinery or just curious about its capabilities, Homag’s CNC technology event is the one that can’t afford to miss. Held at Homag’s Castle Donington showroom on 11 and 12th May, this special event will showcase no fewer than eight CNC machines on working display, producing components for both the panel and solid wood markets.

Product specialists will be on hand to guide one through their extensive range of CNC equipment and offer expert advice on which models can help one’s business grow. Homag’s software team will also be able to demonstrate our latest operating systems for 3, 4 and 5-axis programming, nesting and joinery production.

“CNC machinery and technology have advanced hugely over recent years, which is fantastic news for our customers as they can now invest in Homag machines more cost effectively,” claims Simon Brooks, sales and marketing director for Homag UK.
He continues: “We’ve worked hard to ensure that our machines stay at the top of the table in terms of both quality and technology. Our first open house of the year is an exciting platform to showcase the advances we have made with our CNC machines. This equipment significantly increases productivity and is testament to our continual pursuit to develop the very latest technology.”

Live Demonstrations will be given on:

BHX Range – fast, flexible, zero set-ups, super compact

Since its launch in 2009, the BHX 050 has gone from strength to strength. Its compact footprint (less than 5m²) and incredibly affordable price have opened the door for even the smallest businesses to use CNC technology. It has been installed in a two-man business as the heart of its factory, as well as large companies requiring flexibility for one-off components. The BHX 050, which will be put through its paces throughout the event, comes with a router spindle, vertical and horizontal drilling facility and grooving saw providing super-fast machining of panel products. Alongside the BHX 050 will be the BHX 055 which has additional features such as a larger drill block, automated thickness setting and an automatic tool changer function, adding to the versatility of the machine. Panels up to 3050mm long can be handled with ease on the BHX 055. The launch of the BHX 200 took compact machining centres to a new level.

Nesting Solutions

HOMAG offers a wide range of nesting CNCs for every level of the market, from standalone models to throughfeed nesting cells. There are even automated board storage and nesting cells that can completely manage the stock, calling-off the material one need, when a person need it and loading it automatically onto the CNC. At the CNC event one can see a Vantage 100 throughfeed nesting CNC using automated in-feed and out-feed systems to easily handle jumbo sheets as well as automatic table cleaning, resulting in a very productive one man operated board conversion and machining process.

WoodCADCAM – design and build software from HOMAG

If one is struggling to design one-off furniture components and are spending hours of lost time creating drawings, programs and material lists, he/she needs woodCADCAM. This software is simply amazing. By entering a few basic parameters one can design even the most complicated part, create a bill of materials and quotation, see a 3D render of the product and automatically create programmes for the CNC machine – just incredible and suitable for bespoke furniture or volume producers alike. Homag be demonstrating the versatility of woodCADCAM at the CNC event, so it’s a great chance to see how it could transform one’s design and manufacturing departments.
