Vacuum specialist Schmalz is driving forward its internationalization: The new subsidiary in Melbourne (Australia) is the 19th Schmalz location worldwide.
The company is thus taking another step in its global expansion strategy. “It is our intention to expand further on the fifth continent. In addition to the traditionally strong industries such as mechanical engineering, logistics and the timber industry, we believe there is considerable potential for Schmalz vacuum technology primarily in the advancing automation and digitization of the Australian economy,” explains Managing Director Dr. Kurt Schmalz.
In acquiring Millsom Hoists Pty. Ltd., Schmalz has taken over a long-term trading partner. Schmalz has maintained a close and trusting partnership with the founders, Janis and Barry Millsom, for many years. Both are now retired. The company is based in Bayswater, a suburb of Melbourne. Millsom Hoists has been distributing Schmalz vacuum technology on the Australian market for some 30 years and has made a name for itself as a specialist in handling technology. The company employs 20 members of staff.
